When we burned years ago, that was the old man’s favorite!  Burned just as hot as oak and actually left less ashes.

Burns very well....its only downfall is its a bit stringy when splitting.   With my kinetic splitter I just added a little piece that goes past the wedge and no problem.

been using pellets since 1996. harmon stove kicks ass with hamer's hot ones pellets. pricey but hot as hell

i like it. nice to wake up and just hit the thermostat on the wall and go back to bed for a half hour and let the house heat up instead of going downstairs freezing and trying to get the woodstove lit.

been through it, don't miss it. pellet stove ftw. there after coming down alot in price too the last few years.way better deals then what we paid for mine.

Ben I have been in the logging industry my whole life I can get a face cord of fire wood in northern Wisconsin for $35 for fire wood, maybe not the best wood, guys are selling alone the road all the time. Semi load of cut 8' clean wood you cut down for $750.00. Guys in southern Wi would love to buy it from up north Wi but we have a three-county rule in the state of Wisconsin due to the ash borer disease. I should have said face cord but still its a great price.

I thought you were in the "Meat Industry" your whole life AKA "The Meatman" so now you're "The Logger Man" too????? :dunno:

How many other industries have you been in your whole life??? :dunno:

we got a pellet stove. go through a bag a day in the dead of winter.7 bucks cad a bag.

some days ill just turn it on for 3 or 4 hours and shut it down awhile.

no complaints. good clean heat. little cleaner and easier to deal with vs wood.no savings in cost but save alot of the labor and mess.

Friend of ours owns this place he started, I don't have a Pellet stove but could get a deal on them if I did.

Cord of wood has 20-30 million BTU capacity or around 50,000 per $1 (25 million)

Heating oil about 139,000 btu per gallon.   Current heating oil is around $6.00 gal.  BTU per $1 is 23,166.

Propane is about 91,500 btu per gallon.   Current LP is $2.00/ gallon or 45,750 btu per $1.00.

Electricity 1 kwh is 3400 btu.  1 kwh 15.5 cents.  $1.00 per 21,930 btu.

$500 per cord still seems cheap or inline compared to some energy sources and expensive compared to others.   Obviously system efficiency not considered here.

I'm in the logging industry, I too have planted trees when I was younger and older, I also cut, split & stacked firewood........

How many logging trucks do you own?? How many log skidders do you own?? Chainsaws, splitters etc?? You know stuff that's actually used in the logging industry??

So using Badger Logic 101 , I'm in the following industries, a  logger, landscaper, grass cutter, brick, block, concrete, painter, carpenter, electrician, HVAC, plumber, heavy equipment operator, doctor, lawyer, pharmacist, Butcher/meatman, chef, fisherman, boat captain, truck driver, automotive & power sports mechanic, Oh my god the list goes on and on and on with all of the industries I've been involved with my whole live...... Oh the very best one is the Porn Industry.............  :lolz::lol2:

As for the Ignore feature...... Wellllll when someone quotes your wonderful posts I can still see them and read them and I just had to ask you about the logging industry your whole life thing because this is the very 1st time you've claimed you have been in the logging industry your whole life vs the Meat Industry........ beer_cheers.gif.502ff77bed512018841ff4998065abcc.gif

Can I claim to be in the logging industry, when back in the 80's I cut 200 chord a summer for a few years to pay for college?  I still have the same saws I used back then, and use them for trail work today!  That must qualify....
