Dang!!!  Well done Exxon.  Almost 20 billion in quarterly profit!  Good to see private companies doing so well and making huge profits!!!

Exxon Mobil Corp (NYSE: XOM) reported record-breaking net profit on Friday at $19.66 billion, or $4.68 per share, assuming dilution—smashing analyst estimates for the quarter.

The U.S. oil major saw a boost in earnings from natural gas, as well as higher oil prices and robust fuel sales.

A bunch!!!  Just like Exxon all the money the government makes, it all comes off the backs of the American consumer and tax payers generosity.  Every last penny of profits comes from those that use the product.  Fill a sled, fill a boat, fill a truck and Exxon and the government thanks you for your generous contribution.

So why do people bleat about the oil company profits but not government taxes?

Both oil company profits and government fuel taxes are great IMO

So why whine about one and not the other? Are you under the impression that oil companies are created to finance government?

I’m not whining…. I think oil profits and government fuel taxes are great.  Road building and maintenance needs money

Leftists seem to whine about profit while ignoring how much the business “ contributes” To the tax base

Don’t they get billions in subsidies?

OH LOOK……

Coal, oil, and natural gas received $5.9 trillion in subsidies in 2020 — or roughly $11 million every minute — according to a new analysis from the International Monetary Fund.

Explicit subsidies accounted for only 8 percent of the total. The remaining 92 percent were implicit subsidies, which took the form of tax breaks or, to a much larger degree, health and environmental damages that were not priced into the cost of fossil fuels, according to the analysis.

Letting a person or business keep more of their own money is not “ giving “ them anything, something tha MCLiar can’t comprehend.
