How is the whole electricity prices thing going on there?

Have you bathed in the wonder that is the Biden presidency? Is it necessary to put off purchases just to put light in the house?

A buddy of mine had mentioned something about their rates going up. I can't remember the specifics though.

just looked at my 10/14 bill date i was .1784 and will be .33652 so doubled.   will be 240-280/mo this winter.

gas per therm going to 2.22 Nov 1  so mid winter $800-$1000/mo gas and electric combined as I uusually have 3 months over 300 therm and 2 at 200.

No he’s probably right I could be a dumbass too and say mine went down from 240 to 180 even though it’s just because it got cold and we turned the ac off. If you look year to year though it’s way the fuck up we use to pay 80-110 now 180-240 month.94655E8B-9DB2-4DAC-BF57-782AA2857204.thumb.jpeg.067257bfe38f8e2f54dd6086df870f5f.jpeg3847CA68-C214-435A-AAE3-0B06170DF242.thumb.jpeg.e6194826470efcc89f07441478266567.jpeg

so what's the answer more solar panels? Or just being a spoiled prick ?

Electric bill $200 average a month…. $2400 a year….   $60000 over the life of most warranties on solar equipment.

a modest array on the roof and a few days with mediocre home improvement ability is $10kish…. Would wipe out 75%+ of that electric bill in NH

I’ve been looking into solar more and more my issue is I don’t plan on living in this house forever. I guess that is the master plan raise prices so high people have no choice but to go solar or wind or whatever green crap they’re trying to push.

Heading north?

I got a while really like 13 years unless the kids decide they wanna be slackers. I guess I could but just doesn’t seem worth the investment I wouldn’t see much of the benefits from it so why bother.

There are too many variables...I have a great south west exposure, but my roof line faces the wrong way. The ROI @ my house is 15 years. Definitely not worth it. However, with the new electric rates that would be shorter.  Still not a good use of my money.

15 year ROI must be having a contractor install it???

I just received 3 quotes.

55K

44k

33.5 k

Pricing is just for solar with no battery backup or any extras. Before incentives.

The pricing went up with the inflation reduction act......
