The Dustbowl of the 30's laughs in your general direction.

The droughts of the 1950s shit in your potted plants...

Poor Karen, loves herself some CNN. :S

When were the lowest water levels recorded on the Mississippi?

How low is the Mississippi? The river gauge at St. Louis has an observed value of -0.74 feet, 17th lowest on record (-6.10 feet on 01/16/1940 is record low).

Regarding the Upper Mississippi River (which I've boated on since 1997) current levels are 8+ feet above what they were in 1988.
