Doug
Here's the safety recall from Polaris today. No the sky is not falling. With the newer sleds and the fuel pump in the tank I always kept my fuel tank close to being full to keep the fuel pump submerged. In late fall early winter syphon the fuel out to be used in the snow blower and put fresh non-ethanal premium in MPORTANT SAFETY STOP RIDE NOTICE August 30, 2022 Polaris Industries Inc. is issuing a Stop Ride notice to owners of Model Year 2021-2023 MATRYX, 2015-2022 AXYS and select Model Year 2013-2014 Trail Performance (Pro-Ride) snowmobiles. Our records indicate that you are the owner of a Polaris Snowmobile with VIN SN1TDV8R4MC354316 affected by Safety Recall S-22-09. We have determined that with degraded fuel, and especially after extended storage, some snowmobiles may pose a risk of fire due to electrostatic discharge (ESD) inside the fuel tank. Under specific conditions, vapors may be ignited inside the fuel tank, posing a potential injury hazard to consumers. Polaris has voluntarily reported this matter to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Polaris is currently evaluating a repair procedure for affected snowmobiles. Until a remedy is approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, we urge you not to ride the vehicle. Once a repair procedure has been validated and approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Polaris will notify dealers and contact you by mail (and email). This work will be performed by your dealer at no cost to you. If a rider needs to start their snowmobile, they must make sure the fuel tank is full and, if it is not, then they need to add fresh gasoline to fill the tank. Owner Next Steps: DO NOT OPERATE YOUR SNOWMOBILE until this safety recall has been completed by your dealer. If you have received this notice, your snowmobile is affected by this recall. If you would like to check the status of another snowmobile you can visit our Product Safety Recall web page and search by model or vehicle identification number (VIN). Your Polaris dealer is in the best position to answer your questions. If you need assistance contacting or locating a Polaris dealer, or if you have questions your Polaris dealer is not able to address, contact our Polaris Owner Connections Department at 1-800-POLARIS (765-2747) or go to Dealer Locator. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and assure you that we are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and will update you with next steps when they are available. Thank you for being a Polaris owner. Sincerely,

stinkipinki
Polaris faithful can try to downplay this, but its pretty serious, and def cause for concern.

LOL ... maybe if you're a Karen. Seriously, 30 sleds have been impacted and who knows how those sleds were stored/used/fuel quality etc. Do you know what 30 out of 230K is? It's called a CYA by Polaris .. covering their ass because they've been burned (pun intended) before and don't want to deal with it again. Most have agreed, continuing to ride their sleds like nothing has happened. It's the '23 snow check owners who are most in jeopardy (not being able to take delivery).

Not disagreeing, but as those sleds age, the potential for hazard rises. Its also a fuel/ignite issue, which is very dangerous. If it was just a few sleds, they wouldnt do a full recall on this many models. Its serious, and props to them for atleast admitting it this time. Either way, Doos sales just increased by 25%. snowstorm
was at my dealer yesterday.this is whats he thinks. they have a fix but it has not been approved yet. polaris says the repair will take 2 hrs. and may not include replacing the fuel pump. dealers can not sell new or used sleds. except the 550 fan. this part i kinda expected if you own a sled included in the order and you take it to the dealer for a repair unrelated to this polaris tells him not to return the sled to you

Really nothing new there. Wait, Wait, Wait. Like the crosswalk signal says, after you push the button, in cities.
