Accountability is missing on so many points....

There is little or no accountability to the customer.

There really isn't a true customer...as someone else pays the bill!

Let the " real" customer mom + dad pay for their child's education... Let them have a vested interest in their investment.

Yes, the parents and their socially derelict children are an issue....

If the parents paid 100 of tuition, accountability and actions would change.

Parents , students, lack of accountability, all are systemic problems of public education.

Simple ideas.... Close public education....

As I recall, you can be thrown out of a private school, for not following the norms.

A big one is because many private schools don’t have degree requirements that teachers must hold.

So, for students  attending institutions such as  Choate Rosemary Hall , or Pomfret School, They  will receive an inferior education, for staff lacking a Conn Certification?

After seeing family and friends attending private prep schools lacking said certification, and attending Ivy League colleges, what is the relevance of public school requirements?

Not necessarily.  In fact many times it is better due to lower class size, affluency, ect.

To have a baseline of knowledge in teaching children.

Correct, many schools do not have a strict rule on holding a degree.

So you are saying a degree is pretty much worthless then . Seeing as almost every privet school in America far out performed there public counterparts .

Or are you just pulling shit from your ass ?

I don't know any teachers who did not attend college.

Not at all, I would imagine teaching degrees are like most degrees, you get out what you put in.

Teaching degrees especially masters are a fucking joke . Talk with any teacher who got there masters about it . Only the idiots pay them self for 1 . But the work load and time commitment is not even close the the level of any other fields masters program

We have always had a shortage in some fashion. What's odd is Minneapolis teachers union just voted to fire white before black and brown.

If it's truly about the kids and not the teachers unions the worst would go first. My wife teaches at a classical charter school backed by Hillsdale college. No unions just right to work the scores show it works.  Discipline is another area some schools have it but many don't

Yes many kids get pushed through because of government programs and directives.  Bring back technical school programs we have a labor issue in that segment. Good life or better then the direction we are in.

There would be better teachers if parents would actually parent.  Super easy to see.  Visit the schools here near Minneapolis.  The better ones all have better parents.  No surprise.  Put a bunch of pieces of shit anywhere and they will make the rest and average much worse.
