Cause of corporate lobbying by business groups to allow business owners to keep more of there money.  Tax deductions and credits don’t build businesses

They allow businesses to keep more of their money to expand their business and invest in it's self.

A subsidy by any other name is still a subsidy...

That the tax payers pay for. Are you really this dumb?

Lawmakers are promoting companies they are unethically invested in and we pay the difference.

"The Joint Committee on Taxation has reported that 78 to 90 percent of the taxpayer money raised via new audits and investigations as a result of the legislation would come from American households earning less than $200,000 a year. Meanwhile, just four to nine percent is expected to come from households earning more than $500,000 a year."

Why I always laugh when we talk about “reparations”. Even though most of the money will be stolen by shell start up businesses of Detroit politicians . I can’t wait to see all the new businesses.

So if you arent wealthy enough to afford a good tax attorney get ready to be audited and have at least part of your assets seized or frozen. The IRS doesnt need a warrant or court order to make a withdrawl from your bank account. The bank will let them do it.

One might think that if this were to happen to you perhaps one would have to assess if the lesser of two evils is really lesser... This is an all out assault on tax payers and a slap in the face from the people doing it when many of them get found to have unpaid taxes and other tax havens even in other countries. yay! Enjoy your "tax credit" you mindless lump @BOHICA

If the spending was aimed at helping the average American get ahead, you would see the benefits over the long term.  This is a self serving grift that just leaves them the bill.

Laughing at those who are still playing sides.

Did you notice that they did not reverse the Trump tax cuts for corporations and billionaires? They raised everyone's taxes who gets a paycheck.

Yep…there is only one side and that side is against everyone here.

It's called the third rail, and that's the rail politicians are on... Not what everyone else is on.

typical, more lies

• The double-digit percentage decreases in average tax liability started with a 12.5% drop for people making $15,000 to $20,000 a year. Double-digit percentage reductions in liability continued for people making $25,000 to $30,000 (down 11.2%) through $100,000 to $200,000 (down 10.96%).

• Taxpayers making between $40,000 and $50,000 a year had the largest fall in average tax liability, a 14.5% drop, while high-end households making between $250,000 and $500,000 had the second largest decrease, with a 14.4% liability reduction.

• Taxpayers making at least $1 million had a 4.3% decrease in average tax liability.

Across income groups, most Americans got a tax cut under the 2017 law, according to the independent Tax Policy Center.

If ya do your taxes right then it’s a non issue.  If you try to get around the laws and not pay your legally obligated share, you deserve to get hammered.

Tax "professionals" (Which I am not) know that 98+% of people pay their taxes voluntarily - meaning they do their best to file on time, and with info they believe is accurate.  So to spend this much going after 2% at best is a huge waste.  And if their goal is to audit more of the 98%, well then have at it.  IRS does what ever they want, and YOU have to prove YOU did it right, they don't have to prove shit.  They compile numbers and that's gospel until YOU spend more money on good tax lawyers to prove YOU did it right, zero accountability by the IRS.

On top of that, the IRS is the LEAST desirable government job.  They have had issues for YEARS hiring people.  Maybe this will double or triple the pay they can attract more candidates.... :dunno:

You bet!  All government agencies never make mistakes or go after people for alternative reasons.
For fucks sake this is  the drunk ass AG of Michigan.  Going after her opposition for investigating election fraud and asking questions.  Im guessing he shouldn’t of been asking questions, huh????

I pretty much know a certain percentage of audits are random cases. Literally pulled from a hat.

Who gets to pay the accountant and or legal expenses incurred with an audit?
