Why not?

Because govenment has ran nothing well or managed to keep a project on budget or get a project done in the last 100yrs for fucking starters .

Any time you think it is a good idea to let govenment take over anything just go the the dmv and think real hard about it.

Then if you still don't feel like slapping your self up side the head for even thinking it was a good idea then head over the a VA hospital

Again tell me what exactly makes you think the fed is competent enough to run the oil industry . They can't even keep fucking federal highways in working order and you want them drilling and refining ?

Ever seen a military   property that was not the most polluted property in the county

Most places you speak of have dictators running the show and they decide what thete people pay and what they pay thete people

So the government doesn’t control the oil and gas prices in the US?  Private industry does?

Investors control tge price and investors look at what the govenment is saying and doing and move accordingly.

You know like when a pants shitting idiot says he is going to bankrupt tge oil industry when campaigning then stops giving permits to go with the lease investors react just like they should. Then when the same idiot runs over pulls his denchers out to give a gum job and beg the Saudi family's to start pumping investors react accordingly .

So yes in a very direct way the govenment you so covet dose control the price of oil

Hugo Chavez suggested years ago that the global price of oil ought to be locked in at a static $60 barrel. Too bad he was listened too.

Actually he said $50/barrel
