Jon Stewart Lashes Out After GOP Senators Block Veterans’ Health Legislation: “Fuck The Republican Caucus”

Maybe, just maybe if they wrote bills specific to what they are trying to accomplish - they would be passed.  But no - they have to have loop holes that allows for spending on other agendas into them - that is why this was not fully supported.  I am glad that someone watches that - and it should happen on every bill that is brought to the floor by either party.

Toomey’s opposition to the bill comes from a separate section of the package that “would authorize $400 billion over the next 10 years of existing spending … to be switched from discretionary to mandatory.”

“And the reason for that, is to create a $40 billion annual hole in discretionary spending under the cap,” Toomey said. “And allow all kinds of spending on who knows what.”

Stewart is not wrong. Why cant they just call our veterans "Ukrainian freedom fighters" and give them eleventy billion?

Yup!  Wouldn’t be a bit of opposition.  Never any problem getting that Ukraine money through…is there?  Vets should be at the top of the list, not if there is anything left over we will see what happens.  Write  a straight up Bill with no bullshit!!! Assholes.

Jon is absolutely right to be outraged at the way we take care of our veterans which at times is utterly appalling.  bills of this nature should stand alone, no pork or other spending should be added whatsoever.  'this' is precisely what is wrong with politics and politicians.

Same old nonsense of saying a bill is for something nice but also loading it with pork

if it were a straight up no nonsense bill to take care of vets it would pass

"The views of Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., certainly did, however.

Johnson voted for the bill in June, but voted against it on Wednesday. He said in a statement that the bill “opens the door for more reckless government spending."

Why Republicans, like Johnson, changed their minds a month after passing the legislation remains unclear, and it was confounding and unclear to veterans and advocates who shared their ire in Washington, D.C., on Thursday."

I'm calling out his selective outrage, selective outrage that has brought our govenment to levels of corruption not previously seen in our lifetimes.  The government of both parties are guilty of forgetting about the vets, so lets be clear.   As others have said, this isn't a black and white issue, if there are billions of lard in the bill.  So no, fuck you.

You are such a sanctimonious partisan cuntbag…I vividly remember your over the top dramatics anytime anybody brought up 9-11 and you would go on and on about people you knew there but now…fuck Jon Stewart. Good god you’re a fucking shitbag.
