Exactly. Quiet drag races don't sound much fun...

We would be good with one EV in our household. They cost way too much ... & nobody can answer how long the batteries last it seems.

That's been the problem since day one and the time it takes to charge.

Few years at most. And by then it’ll likely be obsolete tech. Vehicle will be worthless

If they were not jacking prices 20k + for the xl work truck I would buy a base line for a work truck this week . But every dealer is jacking the shit way up.  I taked to a chev dealer few weeks back . They can't guerntee a price on thete new one for next yr . Not even a 10g window . So you pretty much give them 100 bucks for zero delivery time window or a price you will pay . Merca

I haven’t seen any new vehicle without a premium over sticker in a while. They keep claiming low inventory but fuck there must have been 10k brand new cars in the wrapper sitting on the Baltimore docks when we drove by the other day on 95. Thousands of cars just sitting there I wish I snapped a pic of it.

The track record for lithium batteries and their longevity is well documented. 3000 battery cycles before it drops below 100%. At 4500 cycles the capacity drops to 80%. That's for LFP.

320 mile range for the lightning. Divide it by 2 towing anything more than 4k.

Range will only improve if they want more to buy into the whole electric thing.

If they can improve battery energy density by a lot I think they’ll be great

Ev's have made good progress in 150 years to the point they are almost useful.  Another 150 years might change that.

There wasn’t market pressure to advance it much until recently though and it’s really hard to beat oil.

In the city it's the only wtg. Having a gasser to drive around town to and from work or getting groceries doesn'take sense anymore.

Most EV zealots don’t

I'm far from being an EV zealot. But you can't deny EVs have their place and it's only going to grow.

Right now you will need to purchase a new battery before they become "worth it" so no they aren't.  But feel free to buy one or two.

They will get there, or not.
