We could fill Lake Powell in less than a year with an aqueduct from Mississippi River

Transferring water cross country to feed the desert

Would be a heck of a project.  There's quite an elevation gain to deal with though.  Powell's above 3k'.

I mean, all that water does just end up flowing out to the gulf.  Makes more sense to tap that than the harebrained scheme of sticking a big straw into Lake Michigan.

I’m pretty sure all of that is illegal. Has something to do with the water reclamation act.

:). Yes it's a creative idea, and may keep New Orleans a little dryer ....

But how do you 🤔

1.) Clean THE muddy Mississippi River water?

2.)  Supply electricity for the pumping system?

??   How many NEW  Nuclear powered electrical power plants would be necessary to power the pumps?

??  Is it remotely possible to power it Off the grid with Solar + Wind power?

Could the California customers afford such an expensive operation 🤔 ?

How would it operate if / when the Mississippi River is in a drought?  This has happened with in the last 20 years.

Maybe draining the Rio Grande would be more effective?

Either way, I'm game to work on a new pipeline.....  when does it start ?

I think so too. We have enough fresh water here to even put out a liberals hair on fire but pretty sure it’s illegal to pipe it

Sounds like a really good project that would be sold to the tax payers at a cost of like $100b and end up really costing $350b with 0 accountability.

Name the pipeline Ukraine and there will be unlimited funds

I thought about getting a place in the southwest. At this point it's turning into a shithole. Still a lot of nice backcountry.

I've never liked the desert, even before the boomers sucked it dry

Boomers filled it up with water. We have the right to suck it dry. Your generation has done nothing but whine. Useless shit stains in the shorts of life.

Boomers did no such thing. They just flooded the desert with their crusty asses blowing ac on their dusty bones 24/7

Sam had the right way to fix problems of this nature, it was called common sense.

1 build a gravel base for it to flow thru

2 have generator turbines on the downhill slopes .

Cost effective? Probably not

Why not divert the Missouri river while we're at it as it's geographically closer to the people that want to live IN THE FUCKING DESERT?

😂

Read up on the Colorado River Compact... from 1922 ;)

Why do we need to get Canadian oil to the gulf when we have more oil there than we can even come close to refining?

It is so hard dealing with ignorant people like yourself.  Can you imagine if the government would not stop companies from building refineries?  Welcome to democrats and their green policies.

The production of lithium through evaporation ponds uses a lot of water - around 21 million litres per day. Approximately 2.2 million litres of water is needed to produce one ton of lithium.

“The extraction of lithium has caused water-related conflicts with different communities, such as the community of Toconao in the north of Chile,” the FoE report specifies.

What the fuck does that have to do with getting Canadian oil to port so the nooks can sell it abroad?
