Makes zero sense.

Let me keep my money and employer contribution from this day forward and I'll never ask for a penny in social security or medicare.  They can keep everything I've paid so far as long as 15.3% of my salary in the future goes into an account in my name that I can't touch until I'm 60.  Deal?

I read the article, as you obviously did not.

There is to be no rejoicing.

Even with that increase, actual buying power is still less and less...and will eat up the surplus in around 10 years.

This should make no one happy, but remember..Orange man bad.

Bad deal. Given the option most people wouldn’t put the money away. How do I know this? I was a 401K admin.
you would end up paying double to take care of entire population who couldn’t take care of themselves.
