Recommended Posts

here in the hudson valley lyme has been at us since the early 90s. my girl, my mom, her mom, and many of my friend's have it. very bad if left untreated. my girl's mom ended up in the psych ward. one of my friends actually died from complications from it. shit can tear you up. people come here, get bit , and never know it. go back home and no one knows what it is. look up avril lavigne. they carried her from a hotel room after a long time not feeling right. been a tough road for her. doxicyclene used to be 5.00 and now is 300.00 for a month. i wear off religiously

Both my Parents got it. Shit sucks.

I pick em off me all the time.   Between them and the mosquitoes makes me not even wanna ride the Quad or Dirtbikes. I miss the snow already. Fuck insects.

My brother had it, caught early put on antibiotics and is fine, no lasting effects.

Know someone on my work route that is permanently disabled from it.

I'm close to that now,

I’ve had 30-40 ticks on me this year at least. Only two that were actually stuck.

Probably Wood Ticks, Deer Ticks are no larger than the period on a typewriter.

Find a doctor with a lot of experience with lyme and go from there. Your doctor will most likely prescribe antibiotics.

That's what my intern told me. Find a specialist in autoimmune disease.

What do you mean... your disabled from Lyme?

Close, I can walk maybe 10 feet without a Cane or shopping cart while in stores, even then I have to find a place to sit after 10-15 minutes.

Wow...and that's from Lyme?..Any idea how long you have had it?

Damn....sorry to hear, hope you recover. I guess you've been on antibiotics and the works.

Mayo was sent some samples and info back in 2011, they stated it's an inconclusive illness but appears I had it for +/- 16 years by then. It becomes more painful each day.

And doxy causes your skin to burn like a mf'er out in the sun.  Been on it off and on 5 times in the last 10 years.

lyme causes inflamation in the joints, and sugar consumption feeds inflamation.  Damn it's hard to wean off sugar.

Wow...that really sucks. I guess the testing has gotten better recently but still not that great. The person on my route also suffered for a long time before they kind of figured out it was Lyme. Damage was already done....she had to retire early and maybe has improved a little but not very much.

Hope it at least stabilizes for you and doesn't get any worse...it's a real bad dibilitating disease and most don't realize or know for sure when they get it.

Wife got it about 8 years ago. She is starting to get symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis now which they say is one of the effects. Ticks are a fucking scourge.

Why do they even exist ?

I know the difference well , I’ve had two deer ticks and about 40 wood ticks. Saved the deer tick that was stuck to me for a month in case I needed to get it tested
