Snocross 2023...

Has there ever been a more dominating brand in snocross? Out of the top classes 12 out of 15 podiums by Doo. Going to have to make up a Tucker type rule pretty soon.

Arctic cat back in the day. Cat won every single pro sx race in the 2000-2001 season. When tucker came back to snowcross after his brake from it, he was cat’s sno cross program. After he retired in 2018 they have been non existent in the top snocross classes.

and they could have had a LaValle style team with him... based on some unconfirmed rumors

you going today?  wonder how muddy the lot is going to be...

Probably isn’t muddy at all. More than likely a skating rink because it got cold after the 24 hour rain storm. I am finally feeling better after knocking my noodle on the pavement the other night so i might go.

Kind of comparing apples and oranges.

Not really. Cat had a super strong team back in the zr days. Here is their over all results last time they were good (2018). It’s skidoos turn now to rule the roost. Another factor is arctic cat does not exist in sno cross anymore. It’s basically a doo/poo shootout now in all the classes. The odds of one them getting most of the podiums in the race is very high.

last year wasn't bad in March... the year before was it you or me that almost lost a boot in the muck?  :lmao:

yes... Cat in 2018 owned every class all season long.  utter domination.

the competition has caught up and surpassed what is essentially the same machine from 2018 give or take a few fuel injection changes.  also, the Doo talent pool is strong... and Polaris is equally good.  when you have one rider in pro (Benham) and one or two riders in pro-lite that's a statement, and it isn't a positive one.  should be interesting to see how the new Cat racer for 24 stacks up... which they should imo be racing and dialing in this season.

Polaris would have a better chance if they weren’t still running the same, geriatric IQR/600R that was first debuted in Michigan with DJ Eckstrom in the spring of ‘04. The fucking thing is 20 model years old! And people bash Cat about the Procross. :lol2:

But Polaris isn’t taking firsts or dominating. No one gives a shit about 2nd 3rds or mid pack results.

Kind of hard for the marketing department to make great ads proclaiming look at us! We got 2nd or 3rd place, hurrah!

that's season point totals per class... Polaris riders have been on the box and in 1st

you can find all the info here... https://snocross.com/national/results/

Polaris marketing dept doesn't care about SX, XC, the GD Soo, ID, MIRA or any other racing.  they're too busy marketing fun factor, unmatched durability and dodging the fireball recall questions.  but, they're putting a hell of a lot more effort into racing than Textron is... ;)

Kamm / Benham / Peterson - hope Emil's ok, too many pro's out due to injury

ProL H4

Ogemar / Posti / Forst

ProL H5

Bester / Scheele / Lorenz - Anson, charging hard again.  Can't hurt having Yurk in his ear.

ProL L H6

Lebel / Daudt / Legendre  - Kenny jumped the start and had to go to the back of the pack, 5th

120 CHAMP - damn' those kids are having fun!

ProL Final

Lebel / Bester / Ogemar -

Anson was running second and decided to ride the Bull... over the bars.  Bester and Lebel had a good cat and mouse game going, Riley didn't make it one bit easy.  Lebel - 8 consecutive final wins, surpassing Ishoel's P/L record.

Pro Final

Patenaude / Ishoel / Benham

Hunter led from the start with Benham right behind him the entire time, Ishoel went from 6th to 3rd and got by DB on the final lap in his usual fashion.  Happy for DB - he and All Finish really needed this.

How much more of disappointments can Kenny take?  Kid seems like a good kid who doesn't come from much $ and was really hoping he'd lay down a complete season and keep getting better.  Bummer for him.

yes... @fortune46x might be able to provide more info but from what we see of the Ctak vlog he comes off as well liked, humble and funny.  especially enjoy his interactions and encouragement for the young racers.   I'll root for guys like that all day long no matter what they're riding or finishing.

games are about to begin, they're doing rider introductions...

So what you are saying is that a 20 year old Polaris is better than a 10 year old Arctic Cat.  Results definitely show that.

ERX again... will be there tomorrow night.

BIG changeup... Pro-Lite, then Pro 3X Crown format... and CLOCKWISE track orientation

Good looking track...

ProL H1

Scheele / Lundqvist / Daudt - Bester, Pake and ?  got in a tangle chasing down Anson but were coming hard for him.

ProL H2

Ogemar / Kirchmeyer / Posti - snowbike champ stepping it up... and watch this Posti kid

ProL H3

Lebel / Salomonsson / Wittwer - Jordan checked out from the hole shot and then it was a race for 2nd

Pro Triple Crown which apparently gives too much power of the wand to our resident tech inspector because the racers can switch from primary to secondary sled.  Three eight minute +1lap heats... should be interesting.  This is (imo) fixing a quickly dwindling Pro field due to injuries.

Pro H1

Harr / Pelletier / Benham - AP3 was leading and something broke - Emil was absolutely on fire coming through the pack, great lines!  Polaris sleds are NOT down on power this year in the ole IQR.  and, idk wtf is wrong with Scheuring not being able to keep their mag side body panel on Hunters sled?  maybe I'll take some zip ties along tomorrow...

ProL H4

Downs / Lundqvist / Christian

ProL H5

Ogemar / Forst / Posti  - Anson (4th) in the hunt and went off the track, so did Lebel (9th) -  possibly clockwise funk

ProL L H6

Bester / Salomonsson / Ashline - Snowbike man 42 had a good run and is getting better

Pro H2

Aki / Elias / Francis - Harr 4th after a bad start.  Pro Class is a bit of a shit show this year, but still very competitive and fun to watch.

ProL Final

Daudt / Lebel / Ogemar - Daudt is the first to beat Lebel this season, great job.

Pro H3

Harr / Peterson / Kamm - all Polaris - Harr had a great night

Pro Final Results - based on Total Points from Triple Crown

Harr / Franc / Aki

ERX last night... was a great time with some great racing and a fun time visiting with old friends and new.  the smell of race fuel, the sound of the sleds and watching these kids perform can't nearly be appreciated watching it on a screen.

Jordan Lebel put on quite a performance in the Pro-Lite final... the kid is the next TH68, imo

Few more broken SkiDoo's last night but they dominated the podium.

Michigan is up next and for those able to attend, do so... https://snocross.com/cannonsburg-snocross-national/

It is crazy how they had to change the format of how the pros are ran. They don’t have enough riders to do heat races. I think they said there is only 9 riders left in the pro class

I like the format of three eight minute +1 lap heats.  Don't like seeing all the injuries though.
