Her defending it was even more fucking bizarre. I was talking to a client last night who is pretty liberal (his wife is looney), and he was just astonished that she didn’t just apologize for the mistake and move on. It’s clear she should NOT be on the bench. And how smart was Mitch to deny Garland. Wow.

Mainecat
Not a peep from the dumb ass peanut gallery here when McConnell refused Obamas appointment of a SC judge a YEAR before his term ended. Adding more judges would be what the repubs would do in a minute.

"If" this goes to the govt it will only reinforce what the liberal branch has been doing for some time now.....minimum scrutiny. Look no further than the Kelo v. City of New London. Every American should still be outraged with that decision. On June 23, 2005, the Supreme Court, in a 5–4 decision, ruled in favor of the City of New London. Justice John Paul Stevens wrote the majority opinion, joined by Justices Anthony Kennedy, David Souter, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer. Justice Kennedy wrote a concurring opinion setting out a more detailed standard for judicial review of economic development takings than that found in Stevens's majority opinion. In so doing, Justice Kennedy contributed to the Court's trend of turning minimum scrutiny—the idea that government policy need only bear a rational relation to a legitimate government purpose—into a fact-based test

And when your track record is appointing loons Like this there is good reason to block more irresponsible appointments Sotomayor said at another point in the argument that “I’m not sure I understand the distinction why the states would have the power” to institute a rule like the one being pursued by the Biden administration, “but the federal government wouldn’t.” Edited January 11, 2022 by Ez ryder

No talk of stacking until the libs lost that majority. low functioning retard Garland is not fit to sit on that bench and has shown as much in his year in charge.
Mag6240
These liberal judges are all the way down, not just on the SC. Take MN for example, that judge CHU who presided over the Kim Potter case, the woman who accidentally used her gun instead of a tazer and took one for the team killing a career criminal by mistake? Kim Potter filed for a motion to spend one last Christmas with her family, asking to be released for a few hours to be with them. NOPE. Stay in your cell you evil threat to society! Yet 2 days later, the judge let an 18 year old CAREER criminal with a long criminal history (carjackings, kidnapping, illegal firearms possession) out for a funeral for a family member. Left at 8:30am, and was to report back by 12:30pm - Any guesses if he has returned yet??? Its a fucking disaster what our court system has become.

Her only hope is a pardon by a Republican governor after the story dies down. The catch and release policy has been going on for a long time in the metro counties. A few of the suburbs are starting to wake up but don't count on anything meaningful.
