Wrecked my summer sled yesterday. My brother and I were back road cruising on our KLRs about 45 mph and a big fucking tree fell across the road barely missing him and right in front of me, just enough time to lock up the brakes and go down sliding into the tree bike first luckily. Fairing and gauge cluster etc on the bike. Concussion and broken c7 on me. I’m up and walking around. Furiously buying parts. On Vicodin so could be interesting what shows up lolz. Newly installed tusk crash bars worked well. Helmet took a good hit. Scorpion 950.

I think this was the last one for the year, today. No complaints on how it ended, if this was it, either. Keweenaw will easily be riding into May and I’m jealous. I’ve ridden the last week of October and the last week in April, in Michigan so far.

A Friday Flashback: the February 1999 Snow Goer cover. In the issue, we weighed various 1999 sleds at dealerships: Go ahead and guess the actual/corrected dry weight (weight of fluids removed) of
* Arctic Cat ZRT 600
* Polaris Indy 700 XC SP
* Ski-Doo Grand Touring 583, and a
* Yamaha Vmax 500 SX... go!

A 1978 RXL 440 Triple is one of the holy grails of oval racing. The late 70's to the mid 90's were oval racing's best years when the factories were heavily involved. I'd consider giving up a body part for 78' RXL 440 triple.
