hayward
So how many miles until you guys replace just to be on the safe side? 4,000? 6000? Run 'er till the speedo don't work? Thinking about tearing into one with 4k just to be on the safe side, but that's a lot of work if it'll go another 2 k.
CFM
That’s a good time, at 4k. Some people grease them and some replace. Personal choice.. Edited December 8, 2021 by CFM
Mag6240
If I'm in there for something else, IE track change, I'll replace them. But if they haven't sat all summer with water in them, I'll grease and go. 8400+ on bearings on my '18, both (Drive shaft and jack shaft) original yet. Doug
Like Mag said if your going to open it up change out the bearings. If you've checked/grease them as a maintenance item bearings will last a long time with really no set mileage. If you haven't looked at them or done any type of maintenance then you should at least pull the seal to inspect them or replace them. When/if you do replace them pop the seal off before you install them to see how much grease is in the bearing.
mnstang
I will replace if I have the track out already and they have some miles. But otherwise I just keep them greased and go. I think keeping them greased is the big thing to longevity. And you do have that warning of your speedo stop working. Even when it stops, you can still finish your ride or trip. We've continued a whole season before after the speedo stopped.
hayward
I'm 99.5% sure there's no grease fitting on these sno pro 500's. Not sure how the knotched wheel comes off the speedo side to get things apart either.

mnstang
Yeah the notched wheel is just a tight fit, you can pop it off with a screwdriver
