Google Fi ??

Never thought Google Fi was that great of deal.  My wife uses Visible which is owned by Verizon and runs off their towers.  Unlimited everything for $25/month, no junk fees.  They even offer unlimited hotspot now.  I think if you use enough data on congested towers they might throttle you but we have never had a problem.

You can buy a phone through them or bring your own (check the serial number first).

Business plans are the way to go if you have enough phones.   Unreal the difference compared to individual pricing.   This is with US Cellular.

We already have Xfinity Mobile for basically free as we don't really use much data. The bill is either $11 or $22 a month for 4 phones. It's $11 a gig, but we can automatically connect to most Xfinity wifi routers around the country for free.

my understanding is tmob and sprint towers.  no verizon

Do they have an arrangement with AT&T? They showed coverage here, but as far as I know AT&T is the only service here in IP.

Agreed - there are better deals out there other than Google Fi, Visible being one of them.

I'm not sure if I can run dual sims that way. I would like to keep my Xfinity sim that runs on the Verizon network and something on the AT&T network. Google Fi uses an eSim card (electronic).  That's what allows dual networks from what I can tell :dunno:

they have an agreement with US cellular as well which might be what gets you the coverage.  No ATT

I've used Fi for years.  Biggest selling point for me is the international roaming.  Whereas other carriers rape you with a splintered baseball bat as soon as you try to use international data, Fi gives you data in any country at LTE speeds (or better) at the same rate you pay domestically.  This includes tethering.

In the northwoods of WI, it mostly uses Sprint (now TMo) and USCellular towers.

I switched from Verizon to Fi 5 years ago and haven't missed a beat.

I'm right on the International border with Canada. Would calls be free on Canadian towers? I get a roaming fee notice now on my phone when I get close enough to get a Canadian tower.

Think that would incur roaming rates but TBH I'd need to check.  I don't pay that close of attention to my bill to remember how it handles my trips to Canada.  :)
