I sent a set of shocks to Mike Carver for a revalve/upgrade and am making a list of shit I want/need on the shelf now for spares or otherwise, before winter rolls in and there's another parts shortage.  

Anyone actually get their new 2022 sled(s) yet?

 

 

Upon further review… the new bearing just slides on and off - that’s not right, it must have spun on the shaft to wear it down just enough. That bearing should be press on…

you can point at all the bushings, bearings, etc I'll be replacing when you stop by next week... I haven't even started to dig in yet.

I figure anything after the secondary clutch is a dime a dozen on Marketplace or Princeton, so I'm thinking I can get the sled and fix it for like $1000, dump it next winter for $2000 after a ride or two on it and still give someone a decent deal.

What is it with the 509 retards? I counted 15 509 stickers on one sled and the guy was like my age.

The 10's had absolutely terrible suspension calibration. Mostly ironed by 12 in that domain. 10 also had somewhat unique parts compared to future gen dealing with cooling and such.

the worst part will be figuring out how to sell it in Alaska because it doesn't snow anymore in the Midwest. I read about on the Internet, and someone owes someone else money about it

I got a used shaft this year because I wanted a 4 sprocket shaft and it was last minute and I had to run it. The shaft had a little wear on it and the bearing slid on. Bummer. I put one layer of this aluminum tape stuff I have and that made it tight and then I put green locktite and then this bearing has the eccentric lock collar too with the set screw. Not ideal but it was last minute for a weekend trip. I'll probably keep running it and check it next time I have the skid out.

Went to hobo freight today to get a 6 dollar seal puller to get ready to start re assembly of the catalyst. Saw they had a super sale going on socket sets so I get a bunch of new impact sockets

Another Enticer 250 came home today.

Unfortunately it was only the 250 and I was not able to buy the $150 Trapper that was listed at 11pm at night.

Met the people that built the first prototype firecat.

Enticer #3 runs. Stayed up late to hear it pop off and run for a few minutes.

Now the buying shit for it begins.

I started to pick through the catalyst pile to figure out what is what. Will probably start that in a month or so.

I am 99% sure I only had a few beer cans float away. The flood actually wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. The mid winter melt down was a lot worse.

jesus, just looked at some 4" blades for C&A's if I choose to run the first winter on the new sled without studs... $115

that's what I was paying for 8" of blade two years ago

edit: correction... $101.59 the last time I bought a pair that are still sitting on the shelf.

These haven’t changed in price yet, but they are out of stock… Stud Boy Deuce.

I did buy one of these though and am going through the 3 extra sets I have replaced over the years. Pretty good investment I’m thinking…they have a $185 “professional” version.
