I sent a set of shocks to Mike Carver for a revalve/upgrade and am making a list of shit I want/need on the shelf now for spares or otherwise, before winter rolls in and there's another parts shortage.

Ran into them both last year, at Boondocker's. I was thinking they were actually in their 80's? They get out and ride, that's for sure.

Was going to go race the Enticer tomorrow, won't be making it.

Spend some time in the shop tomorrow cheatin up some parts and putting in an order with Denny.

I got a random text today and some random people showed up at my door step you have met. Plus my cousin was in route. Let’s just say a klim hat and my catalyst needs to be burned. Lol

Went through everything yesterday and today, as well as replacing a wobbly starter pinion. This wasn’t a bad job at all - most time consuming thing was cleaning the back side of the primary - CLEARLY that is not part of a motor rebuild at Polaris.

You can see the cable I replaced last summer is auguring out already.

Finally found some steel rivets for the damn hyfax on those old Cats.

Had to go to the old school hardware store in the area. Like been in the family 80+ year hardware store.

Getting some snow now, so maybe be riding it around this afternoon.

What is it with the weirdos that part out sleds on Marketplace?

I am looking for a billet throttle block and found a guy parting out a early 2000's race sled with one and a set of bars that I'd like of like. I asked how much for the complete bars including the throttle block and brake master.

Nope, he won't sell complete assemblies like that.

Ok, how much for the bars, the throttle block, and the brake master all seperate?

Nope, he won't sell that many parts from one assembly to one person?

One of them had got their hands on an old 600 snox Mod back in maybe 2012-2013-2014 range. I was after the whole motor package for a crack-pot idea I had.

Nope, he wouldn't sell me everything airbox to stingers and he'd only sell me the motor if I had a core from the same sled for him.

I just don't get it with some of these people.

When I used to go to Princeton and Haydays to swap, I'm there to sell shit, not to haggle over a part that should be $5-10 and you are asking $25 and have 150 of. I'll keep walking.

Finally talked my dad into selling down some sleds. 5 went this last week with one still on marketplace. Hopefully list more later this week. My brother is getting rid of some too.

they can't do basic math... or, are focusing just on basic math thinking they'll make more on piece at a time. there was a SP part out I wanted to pirate a couple years back close to home. guy asked what i wanted, gave him my list and told him I'd come over look at the pieces and either take it apart for or with him and pay. nope... too stressful he said, felt like I was pressuring him to sell stuff too quickly. I said ok, you just missed out on at least a grand worth the parts sales.

When I sold at my old GP292 stuff, I sold EVERYTHING at once. You didn't get to come and pick a few things here and there.

It was all or nothing.

I had at least a dozen messages telling me I'd make so much more selling it off in pieces.

Bitch, I had 2 complete race ready sleds, a half dozen chassis, a half dozen complete motors, a dozen cylinders and heads, and God only knows what else was in there.

You think I can make double the money I'm asking, you come buy it and double your money.

The only thing I kept was my 1 Lunger 100 hood and windshield and a pair of early 2000's Yamaha seats.

No stressing over it, just looked at it all after a few beers one night thinking I'd really like money and space and this shit hasn't moved since I drug it out here when we build the shed and house. When I agreed upon a price that was probably a little low, I just had another few beers and said fuck it, it is gone.

Still no snow at the house so I fabricated a rear bumper for the 2001 Mountain Cat this weekend.

Got it to a matte sanded finish then used about 50 rivets to get it and the modified heat exchanger mounted last night, nice and solid compared to the original plastic one.
