Anyone else getting parts, looking at their new sled or prepping their machines yet?

  • Gold Donating Member

I sent a set of shocks to Mike Carver for a revalve/upgrade and am making a list of shit I want/need on the shelf now for spares or otherwise, before winter rolls in and there's another parts shortage.

Anyone actually get their new 2022 sled(s) yet?

Dad got stuck on a log and tied a rope to my sled and said floor so it did. Probably need a bumper too.

I just fixed the bumper with a sledge hammer wrapped in a rag. Good for another 100,000

I was wondering the same and came to the same conclusion.

Another storm coming in tomorrow and into Thursday could see 15+ plus inches. But I probably shouldn’t ride because it might hurt my snowmobile. Lol why people cherish these piles of shit is beyond me. I bought one to ride not look at.

You mean to tell me I should be riding the ones I have and not letting them sit in a mezzanine?

Yes and make sure it is in dirt.

I just don’t get how this can be true in today’s world of a 3rd grader on this forum… that’s pretty much an insult to actual 3rd graders.

All I know is a 2000 dollar snowmobile will ride in snow like that vs a 20,000 snowmobile and wear out the same parts. If you got snow ride them.

Hold on, let me get an ice sled down and throw some comp bars on.

Don't worry the only one talking shit is someone that will never own a sled in their lifetime.

The losers always talk about the "base" or if it's not that it's that you're riding a trail that is too freshly groomed. People take it way too seriously, if there's snow, ride on it! They're snowmobiles!

700 fogged the shop on its first startup, must have had alot of oil seep into the crankcase over the summer, cleaned up after a minute or two.20251130_161241.jpg

I look at pictures from back when I was a kid. We use to do laps all weekend long around the yard in 2 inches of snow lol. Snowing really hard right now so I will probably go riding again tomorrow after noon

Grew up with a Kitty Cat followed by a Lynx 2000T. Those things did miles and miles and miles around the yard and up and down the field roads with like an inch of snow.

I started with a 1980 jag 3000. My cousin had an old lynx with the wankle in it. Road those everywhere. Hell even our friends that didn’t have snowmobiles would come with us on their dirt bikes so we weren’t riding on much snow if a 80cc dirt bike followed along fine. What’s crazy now is those old sleds were probably newer back when we had them than a fire cat is now

I burned up 9 or 10 kitty cat sprockets in my heyday. The guy at the dealer told my dad he had only ever sold like 15 total. I’m still pretty sure I have more miles on that thing than I do all my big sleds combined. Would wake up early, get my snow suit on and go wake my dad up to start it for me every weekend there was a dusting or more of snow

Have the chance to buy a so-so mid-90's pogo-stick Vmax 600 for $200 and another $100 the guy will throw in some twinsies pypes.

Hmmm..

I still need a gas gauge because fuel came out everywhere on my ride, still have to put skis on and a couple other things maybe some minor clutch tuning but this project is mostly done and I rode it for a bit today and everything went well. Now move on to the next one in line, and I have a new axle for my trailer that needs to go on too.
