Anyone else getting parts, looking at their new sled or prepping their machines yet?

  • Gold Donating Member

I sent a set of shocks to Mike Carver for a revalve/upgrade and am making a list of shit I want/need on the shelf now for spares or otherwise, before winter rolls in and there's another parts shortage.

Anyone actually get their new 2022 sled(s) yet?

Just had my first kid last week and it’s taking me everything in my power to not go buy this show room 340 Jag. If he was 4 or 5 it’d already be in the garage, for 1800 bucks it probably should be anyhow but that’s a long time for it to collect dust.

I’ve bought and sold a few jags and pumas in my day, this is the first one with a good excuse to the wife though.

That’s what the suburban is for, it’s basically just a 4wd Pontiac Montana

Thought I was done buying parts, but decided the Enticer will likely see 4-5 races this winter, so ordered up some more idler wheel bearings, looking for a Zero Pro to build up for the skid, another set of slides, an overbore piston, and another belt. Heaven forbid I order any one of those items from the same place as one another.

Probably dropping a pair of cranks for it off to get rebuilt and will be doing to government work on a spare secondary this Friday.

My cousin‘s kid is 2 now. When he was less than a year old my cousin found a mint condition 1985 Honda xr100 exactly the same as the one he had as a kid. Well he didn’t tell his wife and brought it home. His wife was like what the hell is that a few months later. He said ask your son. lol so buy the jag. Your kid needs it.

My white out stuff came over the weekend. Waiting on some brp latches so I can finally mount the bag. I will be ready to roll this weekend. They are teasing a decent storm next week. Last year we got 3 feet the same time. I hope to be back riding in 2 weeks

Got the official Sconnie stickers on the sleds last night…

Great you have them, but damn are those stickers ugly. I hate that states do that.

At this point, it’s just what it is. Found what I hope is a good spot for the registration there by the yellow reflector, but Sconnie requires a trail pass as well, the orange on the windshield. They like to make it a kaleidoscope apparently. And I’m keeping the MN registration, why not? Will probably get more time there anyway…

I love the people that bitch about the new stickers in MN Trail Riders or whatever the group is. The DNR officer in our area told the local club presidents there are no warnings. You tell him you aren't putting it on or pull it out of your pocket, you'll get a no-display ticket at minimum.

Suck it up buttercup. Yeah, it sucks, but fucking deal with it.

If they are going to make the stickers big, wish they'd spend a few extra cents and get us the Minnesota state shaped stickers from the 70's and 80's.

And some adhesive that actually sticks to today's sleds too would be a bonus.

I already pulled that about 5 months before he was born with a rifle that’s almost identical to the one my dad pulled that move with 5 months before I was born. The “it’s for the kid” clause is gonna cost me a lot of money I think.

Just about ready to drop the rebuilt engine back in after the broken skirt from March.

The fines not that much unless they changed it. I ran my sleds for years with no stickers on them and not registered. I got a ticket once or twice. I always ran the trail pass though

I think the fine used to be twice the price of the trail pass or registration tag.

It should ramp up with each offence. The last time we went to Park Rapids to ride, the rig in the lot next to us had tags that were 2 or 3 years expired, no tag on the trailer, and all 5 or 6 sleds had expired registrations on them. I think ZR6rr called them in.

I think the last one I got was like 100 bucks plus a bunch of other fines for stupid land of 10,000 fines. One was the speed limit one. he was not happy he had to chase me for like 11 miles, I never knew Minnesota would go on police chases on a snowmobile. Back home they usually work with 3 people and have someone at the next intersection either in the truck or on another snowmobile depending and they radio down and have them stop you vs chasing. It had been like 10 years since the last one.

I've had the state patrol stop me before.

Back in my more youthful days.

Turns out when you handily pass them in the ditch of the state highway, you get noticed.

What started the Chase was he clocked me at 65 mph on a rail grade where ever he was hiding. I was actually slowing up because there was big group in front of me when I passed him. The group flagged me by before he was able to get his sled going. Then I hit a second group that flagged me by again. That held him up for a while. I stopped to look at a trail map and he pulled up and slapped my kill switch lol.

I had a Dakota County Sheriff chase me down in his truck along a highway years ago… speeding was his reason, and he admitted he had to go over 70mph to catch me. My response: “Well then I couldn’t have been going much if even over 50 for you to catch me” - he let me go with a warning…

As a teenager I got pulled over for expired tags by a sheriff, but he followed us for a while including going wide open across a lake and he didn't mention anything about speed. It's not a big deal where I ride, I only recall ever even seeing 1 law enforcement officer in the 30 years of riding there. I did get a speeding ticket once but that was on lake Minnetonka and they set up on a channel where it's shoreline area which is 15mph. I was going 50. I thought that was bullshit because that channel is water half the time and you'd be stupid to go 15mph through there.

The best riding is away from the crowds and there's very little law in those areas. Wisconsin is ruled with an iron fist, checkpoints and everything.

Pursued on 6 mile once. That ended funny but you'll have to ask me in person to hear how it went down. Not sure that cop will chase someone speeding again

I've got a leaking exhaust valve seal on the 850, looks like i will be fixing that, but I'm not sure it even matters, just a little black crap leaking out on one side.

That Arctic Monkey guy is posting the shit out of the Cat groups again. One video was of him.

He looks like he was an extra in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

He is @krom favorite person. Guys just as whacked out in person as he seems online. It’s even crazier that he’s that wound up because he’s stoned 23 hours a day
