Anyone else getting parts, looking at their new sled or prepping their machines yet?

I sent a set of shocks to Mike Carver for a revalve/upgrade and am making a list of shit I want/need on the shelf now for spares or otherwise, before winter rolls in and there's another parts shortage.

Anyone actually get their new 2022 sled(s) yet?

Ever have one of those days?

Working on old shit today after I damn near sank the German Titanic this morning...

Enticer - went to put on new hyfax, found 9 broken guide clips. Did those on the sled, maybe should have taken the skid and track out. Oh well.

72 Cheetah. Grease zerks wouldn't take grease. Replace. The rest of the sled looks great.

74 Lynx. This year's project sled. Needs the rivet on hyfax. While I'm greasing the skid, something just doesn't look right. WTF, missing the rear shock all together. Like it doesn't look like it was ever put on. Ever. Replaced more grease zerks. Decided I really can't do those hyfax with the skid in, so that'll come out when I feel motivated.

Carb needs a rebuild and it needs new fuel line. No 1/4" Tygon at any of the 3 places I stopped today.

Eyes up Prowler Pro to figure out what that pig will need this winter...

Are those zerks screw in or press in? You're doing better then me, I have stalled on the sled. Started with sick pet, then I got a lemon Prowler HDX, then I got an obs on bring a trailer, and I've been sick the past 2 weeks and got deer hunting coming up. I'm hoping to at least get the garage cleaned up, shit put away, leaves removed, etc. then maybe work on sled. Getting the front suspension back together would be nice.

Screw in. I ended up putting angled ones on both sleds since the straight ones are not possible to get the zerk lock on and pumping grease, plus 3 of 4 wouldn't take grease anyway.

I made a tool kit for the Polaris today. Harbor Chinese had wrench sets for 5.99 so I bought 2, folding Torx and hex, some pliers and a 6n1 screw driver for next to nothing. Best part is it all fits under the seat nicely. My sled solutions bag did come but the mount won’t work. My tunnel is too short. Gonna have to exchange it for linq mount and white out adapta link. I have to swing back by the dealer on Monday as they said Polaris is supposed to have a belt sale in November when I was in there in Friday getting a couple gallons of oil they had on sale.

I finally pulled two out of the trailer and washed them the other day which got put away a bit dirty at the end of winter... and the dog. Leaf blower works great for drying sleds off quickly... dog got toweled. lol

OBS on BAT sounds expensive. I hope you mean a ford too, chevys are square body not obs, idk when Chevy “obs” started but that’s a hill I’ll die on.

I’ve found the best deals on CL and marketplace as far from BAT or facebook groups as possible

Mine has been relegated to winter beater status since I went out to Montana for this unit. So naturally I am looking for another cleaner one. The new dually is going to get some paint touched up and put away for the winter this week so I’ve had to spend about 15 hours and $500 chasing an oil leak on the suburban, only thing left is the timing cover and it should be good for another 280k

This old hunk of shit would be everyone’s wet dream on bat. Zero options, stick shift, standard cab, 4x4 manual t case, long box. Some body’s daughter is probably knocked from viewing this hog. Last I heard it was T boned and taken to the junk yard. When I sold it in 07 it had like 180,000 miles on it and didn’t move under its own power

Old truck, manual that’s the key for the bring a trailer types. I paid 13 for my bolt action dually, on BAT or in the right Facebook group it’s a $30k rig. Not even surface rust on the frame in NW Montana but somehow the eastern half of the country that gets the same or less snow can’t figure out how to clear roads with anything that doesn’t rot shit to the door handles in 7 years.

The bolt action tax is even greater for Porsches.

I still have the alpine and mtx system I ran it. I bought for like 6k back in 99 so it was pretty much a new truck back then. When I sold it was ragged out and the clutch was gone. I think I sold it for like 500 bucks and left the title and keys on the seat and told the guy to tow it home when he got time. The interior was clean on it though. In that condition it would probably bring 9k on bat.

MFG Supply order went in for vintage sled parts.

Would like to us Fowler, but they don't have an online store that I am aware of.

I started working on the catalyst skid. I put all the little stuff on the rails and put the shafts in loosely it just to get it together. I forgot how it went together so I went found a parts brake down.

Picked this bad boy up real cheap the other day. Windshield is inbound from eBay. Found out the hard way seats are way harder to find for these than the old style

Find a Mexican upholstery shop they will have that thing all pimped out with a bench seat and leopard print in minutes.

My catalyst skid is fully assembled ready to go. Need another seal for the water pump before I can re do that. Turns out I actually tweaked that front shaft before I put the ohlins in it. The stock shock has wear on it and I didn’t notice at the time

the shitty part is... had you known they had substandard hardware in the skid when you put the Ohlins in and upgraded to the RXC hardware then... it might not have happened.

If you're bottoming out constantly something is going to give, if it's not hardware it'll be the next thing

or, maybe they could just not use cheap (but lighter!) components in the skid in the first place?

dunno

It’s a good thing he followed Deepthroater’s advice and ran his clickers full soft for the rough stuff: “If it’s rough, soften them to make the suspension do its job”.

He’s had likely buckled his tunnel and bent the chassis in half had he stiffened the damping settings. You only increase the compression and rebound damping for freshly groomed, smooth trails.

No matter the parts you put on, like I said, if you're bottoming out all the time you're going to tear stuff up. I don't think this is a widespread issue for people who aren't bottoming out a lot.

That piece has been on all the sleds I have had since 2010 from arctic cat. I never had one fail. I have cracked rails before but I have never punted a shock through a track before. I am actually more pissed about the water pump going out as I had to dismantle most of the sled

Even then this thing is made so cheap. The belt drive has a bad drive shaft and bearing in it, the upper jack shaft bearing was locked up, water pump went out, clutches went out, a arms have a lot of slop in them, all the skid bearings were bad and all but 2 wheels were bad, fuel gauge went out. I see the aftermarket has better bushings now for clutches and an arms, belt drive shaft savers and other components to make it live. Had I not broke the skid and took out the track I would have had a major drive line failure late last season or sometime this season. Hopefully cat get’s the quality control together on these things as they seem to be hit or miss. You either get a good one or one that just sucks. It is a fun sled to ride when it is running and they did make it easy to work on.
