Anyone else getting parts, looking at their new sled or prepping their machines yet?

  • Gold Donating Member

I sent a set of shocks to Mike Carver for a revalve/upgrade and am making a list of shit I want/need on the shelf now for spares or otherwise, before winter rolls in and there's another parts shortage.

Anyone actually get their new 2022 sled(s) yet?

Jesus. Along with slides going through the roof, carbides are up more than 25% from last year.

The 9” Stud Boy Deuce I run are the same price at DK as they were last year. They did jump the year before about 20% from $90 to $109.

in the spirit of saving a few dollars... ordered four new idler wheels and installed. took the good bearings out of two chewed to fuck idler wheels and put them into two good idler wheels with worn out bearings. now I remember why I hate C-clips.

Woody's Executive 8" bides for C&A's... same silly price as last season but have two extra sets I bought on clearance from two winters ago. Hooray! lol

Take all your idler wheels off. They slow you down.

I added extras, cuz if six wheelz is good... then ten wheelz is better. thumb

sent the brother a ten pack of Amazon bearings as all they're all shot in the 440 and he has the skid torn down, shocks being serviced and some other stuff goin' on... rubber on the wheels are good thankfully. boy, is he in for a fun afternoon with a snap ring pliers, screwdriver, sockets, blocks of wood and/or a vise. lol

Just like servicing a Team secondary, it seems to be the best to get a Jesus Clip pliers just for idlers with larger snap rings.

I have some I bought at Haydays that are the right size idler, but the wrong size bearing. Those interchangable tip ones just don't have it to get those snap rings out.

Sawzalls work well for removing idler wheel bearings

I've like, 5 different HD snap ring pliers (straight and 90 degree) but none with the interchangeable tips, which seems to break easily. Generally I just put new wheels in as it's typically been the rubber getting chewed to fuck by stud heads or chunks of ice in the skid, but seeing how much they've gone up... I'm making ready to go spares.

The catalyst rails removed themselves no sawzall required

It’s actually bent so bad it can’t be removed from the rail

Was chatting with a customer of mine that deals with Polaris and they told him they are going to have a huge price increase soon and if he wanted a new 4 wheeler to go buy one now.

Was told the same. Their parts cost has skyrocketed.

Contemplating flipping my 2018 Sportsman 1000 because of it....but I ride like 150mi/yr. Just use it for bullshit around the yard, house, neighborhood. Shit is hitting them hard, crazy considering how much they already cost.

Little woman said we should get a SxS for next year (On the team!), feel like the time to jump is now, even if used…

I wouldn't wait. Good time of year to buy a wheeled vehicle as well.

Don’t wait. Buy something they have on the lot. From the sounds of it, it’s going to get ugly

Btw found out how to fix the catalyst seat c2c style

Got kicked out of the ethanol plant just now.

So, maybe time to work on a sled for an hour or two tonight?

3" angle iron. Get the aluminum angle for lightweight racing applications

I wonder if sleds will get hit too?

Will sleds get hit with that too?

What he told me is yes they will unless something changes

I will also say arctic cat will probably get hit worse as they were idle for a while.

Rails finally came off back order

Got some shop time in tonight. Still need to turn all 4 knobs down to 1 or put different shocks all around in it. Pop a few extra holes in the limiter straps and do a baseline suspension set-up.
