Anyone else getting parts, looking at their new sled or prepping their machines yet?

  • Gold Donating Member

I sent a set of shocks to Mike Carver for a revalve/upgrade and am making a list of shit I want/need on the shelf now for spares or otherwise, before winter rolls in and there's another parts shortage.

Anyone actually get their new 2022 sled(s) yet?

I used my new Milwaukee angle grinder my dad got me today for getting him so many credit card points to cut the exhaust springs off. It was easier than pulling them off. Engine is now ready to be lifted out of the sled. I am probably going to leave it like that until I get the parts to fix it so it’s not in the way. Also pulled the jack shaft out and good thing I did as the bearing on the clutch side is done. Might want to check them if you have a catalyst. The catalyst is really easy to dismantle, I should part it out since the only thing left on the sled is the gas tank, snow flap, and running boards

Good thing I don't have a Phazer, yet, or I'd feel obligated to get that.

Probably need to start sending some of the litter to new owners...

I see it is sold now. You taking that up to Norman county? Looks like it has some bark

lol. You won’t believe this but my abuse during the brake in of the holy grail of snowmobiles worked extremely well. You can still see the cross hatch on the cylinders. Looks like brand new inside the engine. Too bad everything around it has fallen apart.

had just a DG can on the ZR580 and it was holy fuck loud... until the baffle inside broke. that would be perfect for Norman county or any trail system you'd like to see closed while riding out of your area. he must've sold the 11" bar riser separately. dunno

My cousin’s 1968 Evelynrude with megaphones on it is stupid loud. We make sure to trail ride at 10 pm so the whole neighborhood knows we are on it.

The riza on my xcr is not the appropriate height so I bit the bullet and ordered an isovibe to try. It is iron dog approved and adds mad height to the bars

Isovibes work great for hardcore bump bashing and XC racing. No one on this site would ever know that from riding to and from bars on groomed trails.

They also work great when you encounter a dog sled team on the trail, pull back hit the the throttle, wheelie right over the top of the dogs that are are the wrong side of the rode.

The Polaris rider had to make a phone call and plead guilty to negligent driving. He never had to spend one day in court.

Alaskans can still be bought off with some shiny beads and metal pots and pans.

but theres no misalginment or side loading of the secondary clutch that would cause that according to the internet...

You said the dogs were on the wrong side of the road. Why’d the guy plead guilty then? lol2owned idiot

Why are you quoting me, is it because I pointed out that your shitty cad drawing was incorrect, never said there was no side loading, only that your numbers were wrong.

I didn't mean to quote you sorry - admittingly the numbers (jackshaft length, clutch sheave dia) were not factual numbers I used round numbers for the sake of comparison and discussion however the angles and everything from the actual cad of the chain case where the rotation was set.

The gift that keeps on giving.

I told myself no more snowmobiles, new or old.

Tried like hell to buy a 1981? SRX440 this morning.

$450.

Saw it maybe 10 minutes after it was posted and messaged the guy I'd take it could be there ASAP.

I'm sure I was about the 440th person in line with the same offer.

None, it’s perfect. The inner seal must have decided it didn’t want to work any and headed out.
