Mouse smell in a vehicle.

Recommended Posts

Anyone find success with odor bombs, eliminators etc?

Groomer still stinks from last year after the mice mover in last summer.

The little trees did little to mask it over the winter. More like mouse piss in mixed with drakkar noir.

Shampoo the seats and carpeted sections maybe?

Need to remove all remnants, disinfect, and leave windows open on really nice dry sunny days. If you can get pure sunlight in it (ie thru open windows and/or doors)  even better.

Maybe an ozone generator / Ionizer machine  :dunno:

That's what I was going to say, see if you can get it to a detail shop and they can use their Ozone machine to get the odor out

Might even be able to rent one possibly. Put it in the cab for a day or so

I thought about that. I buddy of mine's house burnt and that's what they brought in.

I have a couple,  here meant for hot tubs. Is a last resort I suppose

Prick to ozone is it's really caustic.

Worse smell ever. A lot of these old cars that come in are soaked in mice piss.  Then,  they try to mask it with mothballs. Foul ass smell. I don’t know how they ride around with the stench.

You have to get the remnants of the mouse carcass out, totally. Then mix bleach with about 30% water, and wash the contaminated areas down. The bleach will also smell for a few days, but once it dries thoroughly, all smells will be gone.

I can smell a dead mouse fifty feet away in my barn, maybe more.

Pet stain cleaner sort of works to clean the smell out of covers

I’ll tell you one thing don’t get those odor bomb spray things they don’t do shit but give a overwhelming air freshener scent. The jar ones that “soak” up the stink work so so. I had them in my old truck years ago one year. I basically took the entire interior out simple greened and hose out the metal being careful not to overly spray electrical stuff pull the floor plugs to drain water. Simple green the carpet and seats hosed them off and baked everything in the booth to dry or can leave in hot sun to dry. That was the only thing that got it 99% out after trying the above mentioned cans and bomb things pine trees nothing else really did much.

We used to use what we called bubble gum bombs.

They're aerosol bombs used in a house after a fire, or in a car after a dead body. They work, no question.
