Official JTSSRX Flat Earth Thread

Recommended Posts

In a new video on his StarTalk YouTube channel, Neil deGrasse Tyson took on Flat Earthers — those who believe the Earth is flat — and blamed the conspiracy theory’s rise on “free speech” and a “failed educational system.”

“We have video from space of the rotating spherical Earth. The Earth is round,” deGrasse Tyson said in his latest video.

In the video, deGrasse Tyson used multiple experiments and examples to prove how people came to know the Earth is round, even before space travel made it possible to observe the Earth from a distance.

As for why a movement of people who believe the Earth is flat is rising, deDrasse Tyson offered two possible contributors.

“For me, the fact that there’s a rise of flat-Earthers is evidence of two things. One, we live in a country that protects free speech. And, two, we live in a country with a failed educational system,” deGrasse Tyson said. “Our system needs to train you not only what to know but how to think about information and knowledge and evidence. If we don’t have that kind of training, you’d run around believing anything.”

What part of that doesn’t make it a magical thing they call gravity. In order for it to be a magical thing called gravity you have to prove gravity.

here is the definition of the scientific method. You need to be able recreate gravity using this method for it to be a thing. Gravity is a fucking theory dickhead.

sci·en·tif·ic meth·od
/ˈˌsīənˈtifik ˈmeTHəd/

noun
  1. a method of procedure that has characterized natural science since the 17th century, consisting in systematic observation, measurement, and experiment, and the formulation, testing, and modification of hypotheses.

Hey moron.  I simply asked you to refute a mathematical theorem.  Step 2 is where it gets fun, but if you are too dumb to do that we will never actually get to banter.  Perhaps contemplating your flat ass shit in the equation will give you some insight....but I know better.  Doubt you can even do rudimentary addition more or less calculus.

JT’s main problem with gravity basically boils down to his being scientifically illiterate.  In non scientific use, hypothesis and theory are used interchangeably.  In science, a theory is something that has been substantiated by evidence gained through the scientific method.

That’s just a CGI theory!

Neal Degrasse Tyson just laughed at Bezos, Branson and Red ball guy because he knows based on the size of the earth you can’t see curvature at this height.

This Luxury Space Balloon Lets You Glide 100,000 Feet Above the Earth With a Cocktail in Hand

“If you’re looking for the fury and vibration of a rocket, you’ve come to the wrong place,” says Jane Poynter, cofounder of Space Perspective. “Our Spaceship Neptune offers a gentle ride into space that lets clients absorb the astronaut experience.”

The football-field-sized space balloon carrying the bulbous cabin into the sky at 12 mph (picture the pace of a leisurely bike ride) is in market contrast to the thunderous Flash Gordon blastoffs of Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin. Spaceship Neptune’s swanky, pressurized lounge is a panopticon of windows and includes a bar and bathroom. There’s even Wi-Fi. Instead of g forces gluing fliers to their seats, eight passengers and one pilot will sit in recliners, chatting and sipping cocktails as they gradually zoom out on Kennedy Space Center—Spaceship Neptune’s home port—until it becomes the Florida peninsula, then the East Coast and, eventually, a grand view of Earth itself.

More from Robb Report

“Some people would love to go pre-dawn,” says Poynter, “so you can really experience the extraordinary sky and see the iconic blue line that separates the Earth below and space. There’s almost a crazy rainbow effect.”

Tested and used by NASA, high-altitude balloons have been around since the 1930s, when they were first employed for research and adventuring. Poynter and her husband, Taber MacCallum, cofounder of Space Perspective, developed and launched the space balloon that carried Alan Eustace to his record-breaking parachute jump of 135,980 feet in 2014.

Spaceship Neptune’s 100,000-foot climb technically won’t reach space, but Poynter says it replicates the suborbital rocket experience (what Richard Branson experienced during his historic July flight aboard Virgin Galactic’s spaceplane VSS Unity, minus the weightlessness) but with a lot more luxury, while still giving passengers incredible views of the curvature of the Earth below and the blackness of space above. “The way we designed it was to make it as easy as boarding a commercial aircraft,” says Poynter. “We wanted our clients to sit back and enjoy the luxury experience.”

Splashdown pickup is via boat. After a successful test of its prototype in June, Space Perspective began selling tickets for flights beginning in 2024, at a cost of $125,000 per seat.

at the 9:20 mark he says you cannot see curvature at this height. But feel free to keep thinking you see curvature standing on the earth, flying in a plane, or getting on this space balloon

Flat earther's will spend countless hours fucking attempting to debunk the globe yet they have no working model that explains how this works on their earth is a pizza belief.  It's called throw some shit on the wall and see if people have soft enough heads to actually believe it.

JT, I'm en-route to the arctic circle right now. Do flat earthers acknowledge the arctic circle as a thing??

@jtssrx Now I'm in the arctic circle, do the flat earthers believe in this?

Explain how what works?
