States giving incentives for GOING BACK TO WORK

Recommended Posts

What a concept.  Actually giving incentives for people who want to work.

Some states are paying one-time bonuses up to $2,000 to unemployed workers who accept a job.

At least 22 Republican-led states recently announced their intent to pull out of federal unemployment programs.

The withdrawal will end or reduce unemployment benefits for 3.6 million people — about a quarter of all Americans collecting such aid, according to Andrew Stettner, a senior fellow at the Century Foundation.

How can Republicans just take money away from people like that? The nerve :news:

You mean taking it from taxpayers and giving it to people in the form of stimulus?

We should change the child labor laws to a minimum age of 35 before the youth can hold a job.  That gives them time to fully develop their brains instead of being manipulated by corporate America and capitalism.

It’s not like most jobs require you to be inundated with idiotic propaganda like the us military. I mean look at the ex military around here? Even the ones with functioning brains still can’t bring themselves to any amount of critical thinking that opposes what was programmed into them

The dems are proposing $2000 a month stimulus checks per adult and $1000 per child.

Family of 5 would get $7000 a month or $84,000 per year.

Start with original minimum wage and then adjust it historically for inflation. Anyone with a brain would have said the same thing I just did

So around $24.00 hr.   You think that would put any more money in peoples pockets?

Of course it would.....do you have zero understanding of disposable income and what someone’s budget looks like who makes $12 an hour????

   Its likely they wouldn't.   These people would now actually be paying income taxes and the cost of goods/services would rise significantly.   In the end its likely they would have little extra.   If $24 was good why not $50.00?   The people who were making $24 would now be asking for $58 for the same percentage increase over the FMW.

There shouldn't be a MW.   Scandinavian countries do not have them.

MW in one area doesn't mean it would work in another.   Even by county its tough.

You want large corps to dominate even more.....dramatically increase MW.
