View for dinner tonight

A wave of FOUNTAIN FEVER came over me last night, around 2AM.

My neurotransmitters and synapses were on overdrive.

All I could think of was dumping the throttles on that 47 w/twin Sterling 1550s, as  I rounded the last can roaring out of Newburyport.

I hope I don't do something crazy.

What are you waiting for? Buy it, run it a few seasons, sell it. How much can you lose on a 15 year old boat?

Depending on the market you can literally get killed.

I couldn't give a boat away in the early 90s.

They are the worst investments.................no they are not investments they are a gamble.

I could easily lose 100k on that boat.

The operation costs for something like that are insane.

As we speak, I don't have the wherewithall to tackle the hassle of a boat like that, but I don't know how I'll feel in a month.

Believe it or not when I had my 25" Checkmate in Newburyport, somebody at my marina saw me running out of the river and said " they were impressed ".

Nah, that boat will be heading North from Florida soon. I like sailboats but 1300 hp will get me home faster. Buddy of mine is taking his 40 Beneteau to Bermuda as we speak. Taking the month off and floating around.

You dont need that . Just get a 32 ' with twin 454 's . Used about $85 , will always be worth within 10 k of that.

Yup, it's not like they are worth nothing after 5 years. My old boat is worth more now than when I bought it ...

Yeah but that 1300hp means you better be near a gas pump all the time.  :bc:

Well Gravano. I hate to admit it but you are right on the money here.

Yeah, I like the 47', but it's way too much hassle for me now, any way I look at it.

However, I found a standard horsepower 35' in NEW YORK that is manageable for me. I believe my Sierra could even tow it, but I have to check that out.

That IS something I could and would undertake.

I'm gonna' look into that one. Not sayin' I'll do it, but just exploring.

I heard that boat slips have a two-year wait list!!

I have to check what's available in NEWBURYPORT Area.

I really don't want to trailer a 35' boat. I'll take dry storage and ramp it with my truck, yes, but no long hauling.
