So C2Corner thought it'd be good to add something to this thread.  So there it is.  :lol:More junk!

Thankfully he's been down this road before and hopefully the recovery of this one goes smooth as well.

as discussed, he'll get er sorted out for you.  we're fortunate to have him.  ;)

I've never like aftermarket big bore stuff.  The oem's have more knowledge about motor building than some little aftermarket sled shop can comprehend

it's amusingly great fun when everything is working as it should be... but for the price idk?

hat's off to Polaris for doing that 9R which is pretty much the Carl's 900... with a factory warranty.

thus far nearly every one that's gone down that I know of has been the PTO side cylinder and slug.  imo, if they get at all overheated (even just once) you're looking at trouble.  I know I got mine hot once on a very cold/hard conditions morning, what happened before that is a mystery.  there was quite a pucker in the PTO base gasket when we tore mine apart.

I wouldn’t doubt if mine didn’t get hot either. Under the same conditions as you stated. We’ll see when he tears it apart. He talked about either keeping it a 720 or punching it to 730. All depends on parts availability and cost , maybe we’ll go 730 . I’ll let him decide, he’s the professional.

stay with 720 unless he has to bore it imo... and be sure the Boondocker is set properly for the ECU in the sled and functioning for simplicity.  I added 1 point of fueling to a couple rpm ranges for mental insurance.

Speedwerx 730 had case work done to them it's not nearly as straighforward as the 720 top end... @fortune46x built one.

he and I spoke about yours this morning after discussing something else... if he has to bore it, it'll be ok because he'll have your entire engine and there's no one I trust more than him.  ;)

Hey I got those weights the other day thanks again.  I didn't get shit done on taking that motor out yet.  We decided to catch covid after Christmas and it was all we could do to get the necessities done before New Year.  I'm whipped.  Next couple days hopefully it comes out.

:bc: I'm not about to take a motor to him or anybody right now until i'm sure they're not going to "catch" anything.

Unless I leave it at the end of his driveway and take off running!

Are you sure it wasn’t the Merrill ride on those smooth trails that did it?

found something interesting I missed originally... 2010/2011 600 XC's came stock with 60g weights.  🤔

going to tinker with it today and if I'm not satisfied may go back to 20/46 gearing

moved the helix to 42 did a short test ride and didn't have a place to stretch it's legs, little bit better.  pulls to mid eighties briskly...

markered the clutches, next time I can have it in the shop I'll see where the belt is going
