Kenney urges Biden to 'show respect for Canada' and sit down to talk before cancelling Keystone XL

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney wants U.S. president-elect Joe Biden to give the Canadian government a chance to make the case for building the Keystone XL pipeline.

Kenney will seek legal damages if reports are true that Biden plans to scrap the pipeline expansion project on his first day as U.S. president, the premier said Monday.

"We hope president-elect Biden will show respect for Canada and will sit down and at the very least talk to us," Kenney said.

The 2,700-kilometre pipeline would carry roughly 800,000 barrels of oil a day from Alberta to the Texas Gulf Coast, passing through Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma.

Joe's mind has already been made up for him. Slim chance this decision gets reversed.

If I recall the states the pipeline passes through don’t get any compensation.

But who ganes from the pipe line not continuing the most ? Hint he is from Omaha and owns a railroad that happens to have a massive yard where the pipeline is to be stoped

What do they get for millions of RR cars filled with oil going through their state? You think that’s safer than a pipeline Einstein?

I support the pipeline for domestic production/use.   If Maple syrup land wants to export the oil overseas do it thru your own country.

Biden needs to be impeached if he doesn’t follow through on this promise.  Independent investigation needs to be started on quid pro quo with Biden concerning briberies from Trudeau if the keystone XL isn’t halted by Friday.  Fuck Canadian oil!
