1trailmaker
Trails are open in Wasaga area limited - stay away if you live out of Simcoe keep your covid ass where it belongs. St Onge is sold out of sleds already, it's banner year for them. Mid-Ontario Snowmobile Trails says permit sales are up more than ten percent. Seems some of the economy is booming I should bring a sled back home (still pissed about all my trails closed) Happy Sledding
smokin george
It's like grand central around here the past 3 days. The rail trail was groomed the other day and it's been run down to dirt.
Platinum Contributing Member Blackstar Posted December 29, 2020 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted December 29, 2020 The rail line from Shelburne to Owen Sound is open too. I threw out my back on Saturday or I would have been up there today. Remember, there is nothing illegal about traveling to sled. JUst don't post your pics on Facebook or you'll have all the Karens on your ass.

1trailmaker
Okay who took the bridge Please Help! We are looking for information! Alongside the rail bed running from Azilda to Chelmsford, adjacent to regional road 35, the Northbound Sno Drifters had installed a bridge last season at the first water crossing closest to the casino sign at Montee Principal. During the summer months the bridge was removed from that location. We are asking for your assistance for any information that may help us recover this bridge. The bridge itself was wood decking boards … See More

1trailmaker
Many anxious snowmobilers are already contacting the OFSC to ask what today’s Ontario announcement means for snowmobiling. Rest assured that no one wants to know more than we do. But given that the government took 5 days to put their announcement together and that it hasn’t yet updated the supporting regulations, please be patient while we take the required time to assess what if any change may be needed to the message we’ve been delivering since the current shutdown started on Dec 26 - ride locally on available (Yellow or Green) OFSC trails within your public health region while following all public health measures. We’ll post our update as soon as the Province provides more clarity. Feb 11th is the date unless the lockdown is extended

1trailmaker
French River This is not good news. Effective Jan 21, the North Bay Parry Sound Health unit are shutting down all groomer operations, and all crown land and snowmobile trails within their health unit district. For us, at this time, means we will have to barricade at the French River or near the Pickerel River Bridge as all trails south and over towards Port Loring fall under the affected health unit. Here’s one story that gives more details. Our trails are currently all closed but always refer to the ITG map before heading out. This is a good reminder for everyone to stay in their own health unit as we hope other units (Sudbury in our case) do not have to shut us down. https://www.parrysound.com/news-story/10311198-north-bay-parry-sound-health-unit-closing-area-snowmobile-trails/?fbclid=IwAR1ck0sHkfvbUbdbjmZ8LvfWidN92Q5GdwPZZXEr-CXfckwHKgkGe8U8cFo he North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is requiring all Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs’ trails and trails utilizing Crown land in the Health Unit district to close effective Jan. 21, 2021, at 12:01 a.m. for the duration of the stay-at-home order and will be reassessed at such time. This closure is done under the Medical Officer of Health’s ability to increase restrictions within their district. In accordance with the provisions of the Emergency Management and Civil Protections Act, and the Regulations thereunder, specifically stay-at-home order, and the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19) Act, and the Regulations thereunder, specifically Rules for Areas in Stage 1, the Medical Officer of Health for the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit deems it reasonable and necessary to close all Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs’ trails and trails utilizing Crown land in the Health Unit district effective Jan. 21 at 12:01 a.m. throughout the entire district served by the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit in order to decrease or eliminate the risk to community health presented by COVID -19. That is a big area
