Try a sawzall lol. What are you doing to it?

Ha - just going through everything. Shock rebuilds and Bushings specifically. Found the bushings to be in pretty good shape, only a few will need replacing.

it was 64F here today (sigh) so we worked on setup with little brothers new to him 5hundo, went through the maintenance he'll need to do to the RXC, removed all the warning decals and put an actual windshield on the new to me XCR, washed the portion of the fleet currently at the house, lined them up like matchbox cars, sat back took a few pics, drank a beer and put them in the trailers... likely for the last time this season. then went out for a delicious meal at the Indian restaurant. now, I'm going to bed... far too much sun today for this pasty white albino. lol

I can see that looks like you got hit hard there by the warm weather no snow in site in your pictures.

We had a group of guys up on the North Shore this weekend, it wasn't too bad up there, weather was warm.

There were some rough spots but if your know the way around them, smooth trails were out there.

Things are concrete up from Grand Marais, but at least they have resumed grooming, helped a ton.

Still looks good up there, you up for the week, thinking about heading up Friday to that area.

Plenty of snow, just needs to get ground up and hopefully some fresh stuff, which it looks like end of the week. Scratchers are a requirement today, and we’re still dipping off when we can…

They are working as quick as they can to groom it - not the state today though. Hopefully tomorrow… Gunflint area wasn’t too bad after a few sleds went over it, didn’t get ANY new snow last night.

Sled report?

It’s fun… switching modes in the varying conditions we rode in today was phenomenal! Tossed the stock carbides after 85 miles and put some old Stud Boy Deuce’s on it and got rid of the darting (I have no idea why I didn’t do that in the shop last week). I want to try a touch more ski pressure that I think I’ll get from an IFS spring adjustment. Try that in the morning…

Sitting here looking at a broken Ski-Doo primary (“limped” it back to the trailer at 30-35mph 😂) and two guys in our club show up in the first 5 minutes… what are the chances of that!

Put the ski shims in it will help with the darting.

Was it the primary on the Ski-Doo or rollers in the 2ndary?

Eventually - but the darting is gone with these deuces, even badly used ones (10,000+ on my ‘18)

Primary…

We’ve got a group of 10-15 guys from our club headed up today. They’re staying at the knotted pine is Isabella. Forecast looks promising for them!

Haven't been to the Knotted pine since 2018, I wonder how that place is doing now. Back then the group I was with started calling the Rotten pine....lol. I thought of it as rustic, but I have a hunting shack up on the North Shore no electricity, no running water so to me it was was just fine.

I was just there a few weeks ago for gas and a few drinks. I doubt it’s changed much in 50 years. 😂

I'm heading up to the North Shore on Friday, maybe stay a the Shack or head father up and get a room we will see, with the snow coming driving might be a bitch.

the late season (March/April) storms up there can be crazy. friend of mine from Houghton was on a back country snow shoe trip in the porkies during early April a few decades back with his wife and their dog. got snowed in overnight in their van on a logging road, then nearly got stuck and ended up there for two days waiting it out until they could get out. when I asked how they got through it he said "we had a lot of sex to stay warm and just enough food not to eat the dog" lmao
