Up in smoke

The pot busts in the area are increasing and the latest one was lit on fire and when the fire dept managed to put it out there were 7K plants still.

Friends of ours were in Eastern Ontario recently (Flinton) and 2 large crops were discovered. One supposedly had over 7,000 plants and the other over 5,000 plants. Their nephew/cousin, who owns a backhoe, was hired to dig a hole and bury them. I guess they do it both ways depending on the location or the local police dept's policies?

Allegedly, they belong to some Asian's from the Toronto area who were busted? I'm sure now, with the current marijuana laws, many of these crops are littered throughout southern Ontario and likely north as well?

They got one with 15K plants just recently. The cops said one of the busts had a THC concentration that they've never seen before. We have one around the corner from us that somebody flew a drone over and it's only a matter of time before they get a visit

Really? Sounds like these were pros.

The plants were mature at only 3-4ft high and that's the first they've come across. I'm not sure what or how the machine the cops have works but you should see the residue in the hose after they're done.

Thought that weed was legal in Ontario ?

4 plants is all your allowed. There are grow operations but you need a permit from the gov't to grow and sell. Not just anyway can grow more than 4 plants. Who knows the crime ring that was behind the ones I mentioned, but that definitely was a crime ring operation, imo.

A old friend of mine told me last night that his kid had a BIG marijuana business in Cal/Oregon. Burned to the ground.

Was a multi-million dollar operation.

I guess he supplied the stuff you need to grow pot.

He's gonna re-build.

Could be but I don't think so? These Chinese crime rings are huge all over but they have made some serious inroads here in Canada the last little while.

Didn't he retire?

Testing in Canada for the most part is illegal to do on employees.... Truckers going to states must be tested.

Thankfully a business owner here can't take control of your life like in the USA.

Wrong.  I have a few buds that are bus mechanics at the TTC.  They test for drug and alcohol use daily and pick people at random.

Don't you get tested for work?

UPS only tests if your in an accident once your hired i believe.  No CDL's required for route drivers just freight and tractor trailer.

Waiting to see if we will have a  better UPS shipping experience than USPS like Moe said.  Decided to give them a shot because of the USPS attitude.   Got 500+ packages sitting here waiting on a pickup that was supposed to be between 9 and 4.

Pay no attention to, Trail, he is stupid and suffers from the Dunning-Kruger disorder and owns himself daily. :news:

I also have a friend who works for the TTC and he stated the same thing. Drinks, smokes Friday, Saturday but not a drop or puff on Sunday when he goes in on the midnight shift.

Yup, we all used to work together many years ago and get together for drinks once or twice a year.  None of them will have another beer past 9pm if they are working the next day in fear of possibly being picked for a breath test.  They say if you fail the breath test or the THC swab, you are immediately terminated.  The only hope of getting your job back is to say you have a substance abuse problem and enter a treatment program.  Buddy also said even if you’re on cold medication you have to notify your supervisor or you could face severe consequences if found in your system and wasn’t reported.  I’d say it’s a little extreme!
