Saw this on FB…

1975 Ford Pinto I saw at the grocery store this morning! I asked the old chap how long has he owned it and he said since 1975. I then asked him what year is it and he also stated 1975, bought brand new at a dealership not far from where I saw him! This is the first time I've seen a Ford Pinto look this clean and neat in these times! He went on to tell me that this is the only car that he has driven in the last 47 years! I was definitely impressed!!

Brutal day. Emergency root canal. 2 hours in the chair. Pain all through my jaw now from holding my mouth open all that time.
Dentist says no solid foods for a day cause he had to do a temp filling. I get to go back next Saturday for the permanent one.
Antibiotics, Advil and fluids.

Crown and Cokes and Coffee Walk mixed with Daytona races in the shop until I pass out. Warned the wife, if you come out for a chat you will bare my wrath….Don’t poke the bear.

Van Dam is just down the lake from Charlevoix and they build some beautiful boats…here’s one from 2006…

For today's #throwback, we are featuring the lovely Theodora. This 30' boat was launched in 2006. She was designed and built by Van Dam to handle the choppy waters of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Her heritage comes from the late 40’s and early 50’s...a time of relaxed lake-living on an historic lake in a Wisconsin resort region. Understated elegance was part of the brief. Above all, the execution had to meet the highest standards. Van Dam exceeded expectations.

Her planking was hand selected from wood that came from a single tree. The polished stainless steel windshield frame and other hardware was designed and fabricated by Van Dam in their on-site metal shop. No detail was spared. The seating was designed for maximum comfort, and the custom-made leather was sewn to perfection by one of Van Dam’s valued partners. With two, 300 hp V-8s to push her she reaches speeds in the low 50 mph range and handles the legendary chop on the Lake Geneva with ease.

I've never been a boat guy but I've always appreciated the look of wood boats.

Beautiful classic elegance. They are pieces of art.

Stevie Ray Vaughan
Buddy Guy

“I’m from Louisiana, which is close to Texas and I had no idea white people there would come out to hear you play blues, so I was astounded as soon as I walked into Antone’s the first time. Last I knew those guys were listening to Hank Williams and Bob Wills, who I liked, too. Then they slipped Stevie up there behind me. I’m like, “Wait a minute, man. Who the hell is this?”

“He was hitting them notes and made me feel like I should go in the audience and watch so I could learn something ‘cause he had that Albert King tone and attack. I was just thinking, “I gotta know who this guy is.” I really couldn’t believe what I was hearing.” - Buddy Guy

Our #MI01 Photo of the Day is courtesy of Tudor ApMadoc, who captured an aerial of the Copper Peak Ski Jump in Ironwood.

With new historic private and public investment, the sixth largest ski jump in the world will come back to life after nearly 30 years of disuse.
