Groceries are going up again next yr they say 7% or more, but hey the liberals have a plan. Let slam some more carbon tax on things and jack interest rates

Interest is not controlled by  sitting government and for good reason

Carbon tax isn't until April so you can stop repeating PP lies about heating and stuff like that.

Fact are if you have a transport of goods lets say 1 million dollar worth of goods, lets say you used 1000 litires to deliver your goods - The $30 in extra fuel costs has really no affect on the price of goods.

A CON will be told that the entire load will go up 3% due to Trudeau

Amazing how a person such as yourself sees 11 cents as the cause of everything bad.  Gasoline just went from .93 cents to $2.10 and prices apparently rose 8%.  But gasoline down 28% but prices going up :dunno:

You really need some math skills taught

as far as explaining economics to you is a waste of my time

This is why Interest rates are rising to slow buying power -  You really need to look into how economy works

Can politicians control interest rates?

According to The Conversation, it may be possible, but very unlikely due to the impractical increase in government spending to do so. By “hugely” increasing government spending to pay homeowners the difference between their current interest rates and a 3% maximum cap, you may be able to pull this off.May 1, 2022

You’re not very smart are you

The government does not set rates - no twist is possible

did you read your stupid post?

according to conversations  WTF

it MAY be possible

Post up real information if you wish to defend your position.

We can not have Populist governments elect and control our Banks - we would be broken forever.

PP says he will fire the ECO of Bank of Canada - he can't fire him and is lying agian.

Canada has a solid economy for a reason and separation of government is that reason

Interest rates have no affected anyone's mortgage yet - fact 1

having the average weekly grocery bill increase $20 is not the end of the world like PP and his followers say.

People are doing fine but say they have to not buy so much shit everyday, wow what a struggle they are having.

TOSLOW you are doing well and so is everyone you know :dunno:  are you thinking this is the first time people in Canada struggle?

INTEREST RATES RISE TO COOL HOT ECONOMY'S WHERE DEMAND OUTREACHES SUPPLY CAUSING INFLATION

So yes the very reason interest rate are rising is directly due to hot economy -  more FACTS FOR PP fan club

The Bank also notes that consumer and business spending, as well as housing markets, have been noticeably affected by recent rate hikes. Meanwhile, prime rates in Canada are expected to increase in lockstep by 0.50% to 5.95%. The next interest rate announcement will be on December 7, 2022, at 10 a.m. ET

most people are locked into rates while the ones using variable those rates have not been raised yet but will be soon.

variables for future purchases will be higher than fixed rate
