What a race...Helio Castroneves joins AJ Foyt, Rick Mears and Al Unser as a 4 time winner of the Indy 500 and the crowd loves it.👍🏼

What a badass car and look at that speed.👍🏼

Those were the days - 900HP and that sweet, sweet sound.  The series is doing great today, but it will never be as it was in '90's/early 2000's.

The late Al Unser in his striking red, Retzloff Chemical Lola, at Hanford in 1967. Al qualified 3rd but crashed with Mario Andretti after only 18 laps. With George Bignotti as his crew chief, Al was on the verge of greatness, less than three years away from his first of four 500 wins. John Isom photo.

A poignant, but also telling photo of the 1960's racing environment. Bobby Unser prepares to run Phoenix on November 23rd, 1966 in the Leader Card car, with Don Branson's name still on the side. Don had died in a sprint car accident just days before, on November 12. Bobby started 11th and finished 4th at Phoenix. He would go on to win the 1968 500 driving for Leader Card.
