LOL....the only things you will hear on the internet is the bad, especially sledding forums....some do it on purposes as far as I am concerned.

I have not checked trail status, but I am sure it is. The amounts of snow per year that fall as you hit Ottawa and East is significant more than here. There is a line where it can get sketchy, like around here, more in the South, but I think even that might not be as sketchy as it is here. A couple of co-workers in the Montreal area had a few feet not long ago, they got hit hard early, before they had their snow tires scheduled to be installed so getting around was difficult, but last I heard, they lost 2/3rd of it, but still about 12 inches on the ground...and that was 1 or 2 weeks ago.

Not sure it was mentioned yet, but use that new CAT oil, much thinner. You ever left a jug of the old older CAT oil in the freezing cold and tried to poor it......

Consistently good for some laughs, on a daily basis! The more serious people take you, the funnier it gets....

We trailered to temiscamique, bought our permits at corner store, hit the trails between noon and 1, and arrived in val-d'or around dinner after making a wrong turn and riding the wrong way through val-d'or.....so not exactly a long ride. KL should be closer and a shorter ride.

Saw diesel respond to something lately, so maybe Denver wont be far behind to share his Western experiences.....but from what I recall, he had pretty bad taste in his mouth towards POO, plus you know how well some people receive other peoples input, makes ya wonder why anyone would want to share anything

As if this was not expected, the rumours that is.....I was actually just wondering the other day about the new 850 POO sleds in the mountains and how things were looking out west, but never bothered to look any further because everyone knows all you will read online is the bad stuff, never anything good to be posted! Hopefully it is just an isolated thing.

Tinker is a great source for some QC advice in this region, I used his same advice above with zero issues.....thinksno is another member with some great feedback!

Why not plan a bit longer stay instead....head up to Matagami, great area and trails. Val-d'or will likely be the place with the most city life, if that is your thing.

Of course there is waste everywhere, foolish to think otherwise. We get lots of year end mad rush orders to spend the "extra".....so see it each and every year, and not just the public sector.... The "worker" discussion is a very broad one, totally get what you are saying, many things come into play, like the legal liability if that 1" of snow is not removed for the public who has a massive sense of entitlement, to the employees that just know how to play and take advantage of the system, that managers do not want to and do not deal with because it is the manager that has the greatest risk and the most to loose and not the worker, etc....

How about if you make sure you spend all that is "budgeted" to you, you are now given less.....perhaps people will find a better way to manage the funds that they are given vs. just looking for a item to spend that extra money on at the end of the fiscal year.....I know, crazy thoughts, but perhaps what is needed and see who sinks or swims, those that sink, get a new person to take on some fiscal responsibility, if they can do it, great, if not, maybe that group does in fact need the extra amounts, stop the stupid public sector cycle....

Is that words of wisdom from a trough feeder (public sector worker)..... I do not follow these things as closely as you, but i am optimistic about the future, I just hope that looming recession that we are due for, is not a hard one for too many....
