  1. I can say @Palu49's 2019 600 LTD 137, when I owned it at least, was bone stock, had the TALL window, ice ripper track, and was consistently high 90s-100 sled. Honestly all stock motor and clutching. Even yesterday when it was brought along for a day in the snow and not being regulated to the back corner like a red-headed step child, it was seeing low 90s...with the Catalyst secondary on it...................maybe it was all the glitter on it...... However, I don't think there is a Catalyst 600 on the snow that has run like that STOCK. At least none that any of us have been talking about...... My blue 137 ATAC yesterday was seeing high 90s, but isn't stock. D&D reflash, Y, clutching. Trying a different flash yesterday with the stock can VS their quiet can...so slightly different than last time I rode. Still in the 130s hp. We didn't line up any sleds except for my 650 VR1 (D&D Y & clutching) and my Catalyst, so can't tell you how badly my Catalyst would have beat the 19 in a draggy..... but if just comparing top end to top end, they were both seeing 90+. There is many ways to skin a CAT (all pun intended).... and looking at just top end isn't the whole story. As we all know.....
  2. The 650 rides smoother. The Catalyst feels like it can ride thru what ever you want it to. Definitely less "refined" feel to the Catalyst. 650 is faster over all.... Guess I'm a hater and a liar....need to go see these fb groups you speak of and confess my sins............
  3. US old guys rule !!! But I'm not sure if maybe you're slipping because seems you are not sure if it's 96 different procross sleds ....... or my first time riding one.................
  4. So the R-XC gets Fox QS3-R on the skis and rear arm of the skid. And a QS3 on the front arm of the skid. The "R" shocks have rebound adjustment along with the 3 position compression adjustment. These (normally) will have bigger shafts also. Valving will be a bit stiffer also. The ATAC system uses the electronic version of the QS3 shocks where there is an electric switch that changes the compression adjustment VS having to get off the sled and change them yourself. The adjustable shocks are on the skis and the rear arm of the skid only. And do not have rebound adjustment. The front arm shock is a basic non-adjustable IFP shock...and is notoriously the weak link in the skid. And the valving all the way around will be "softer" compared to the R-XC. Which is better ?? Well, comparing shock to shock, the R-XC shocks are the better shock. However, depending on your riding style, the ATAC is the more convenient "system" as you adjust on the fly. Also on the 2025 models, the ATAC sleds get the Garmin G8 gauge cluster from the factory. Where the R-XC will get the basic sport gauge and to get the G8 would be a $1300+ upgrade
  5. Anyone else notice that the SnoPro models list the front arm shock as being a AC5S ? I was fully expecting the crap IFP shock like on all the procross sleds that weren't RRs / R-XCs.... I think if those 5 position shocks work well, this level is the best deal this year.
  6. ZR and RIOT ATAC models will have the G8 standard. But I'm sure you are close to the upcharge to add that to other models. EDIT-- Comparing 2024 to 2025 Catalyst MSRP --- 600 R-XC ES is same. But the 600 137 ATAC was $15599 for 2024 and is $16899 (now more than the R-XC BTW) for 2025 .... which is $1300 more.....which I would believe is the G8 cost......
  7. It's in the link you posted back on 1/17..... There are 2 videos. One with the sled idling with the side panel off. The other with it coming over the knoll towards the camera...... Overall impression so far.... It's a great sled. Need to get more time on the suspension to address a few things to get them the way I like. But the sled itself is great. Nimble. Very light feeling while riding. Steering is easy and fairly precise (still on stock skis and carbides). Real easy to move around on and responds to body input immediately. It's an easy sled to "ride" so to speak. I need / want to get a little more transfer out of the ZR 137 skid at trail speeds, where people are saying the R-XC is transferring more (I sold my R-XC before I rode it due to lack of snow and travel schedule). Hole shot, it transfers decent, but could be a little better. Seat , for me, is great. I don't find it hard and haven't seen it soften yet as others have said with more miles. So will see what happens there. Motor is great. Granted mine isn't stock..... so I'll leave that alone for now..... But it does feel much better in the Catalyst than it did in the ProCross. Although my 2019 6LTD 137 would out run this one on top end , so far at least. But out of the hole to 80 it's very quick. I will be taking the Poo 650 next time to ride them back to back, side by side, in the same conditions and see how they compare power wise. Oh ... and there is ZERO wind protection with the tiny bug deflector Cat delivers these with. It's been a long time since I've had my helmet pushing into my face from the wind at speed......The tall windshield will be on next time. Will see how much that redirects the wind around the driver's body or if only over their head.......
  8. Problem is that you also have the silencer for sale in the same post....and it seems some comments pertain to the D&D sound clip while others pertain to the other............. On the D&D sound clip--- I rode all day after those sound clips were done. It's raspy and definitely louder than stock when WFO. But when just riding along the trail, it is actually a decent tone. In the clip, I was just behind the knoll, mashed the throttle and the sled lifted a bit clearing the top, which we all know makes the sound louder. So that was WOT that was recorded
  9. Been in FL for a bit. Just back in time to watch the latest snowmelt..... but, to your question....yes, they are in the ECU. Haven't spoken with anyone since the 18th, so no idea if anything has changed since before heading south.
  10. Boy did you get off on the cheap side !!! Both of mine we well north of that BEFORE tax, reg, etc.......
  11. Better late then never, right ?? Just sent mine over
  12. What ever would you mean ........................ isn't that the same with forums for the most part.............. it is for me at least........ read, chuckle, and go on to the next one....
  13. I have to agree. I honestly enjoyed my 650VR1 last season....once getting used to NOT having a Cat front end and having more body roll than the Cats I've always been on. I will say the 650 is VERY impressive for a small block....... So much so that it's still in the stable.....and both the Catalysts (R-XC and the ZR-Atac 137) will be compared to this VR1. I am not only interested to see how the 2 Catalysts compare to one another .... as has been discussed here with the differences in gearing, drivers, etc.... But also how they compare to the VR1. ONCE WE GET SNOW !!!
  14. Always around..... just post less and less.... No, I have never heard of that island, but will look into it. Thanks ! And Merry Christmas to you and yours also !!
  15. Yes, my Blue ZR was the major pig on the spit. But they did have one of the prototypes for a bit before mine came in and went up...... Both of mine are there now .....and something different may be coming with the R-XC if we get some things worked out I did get your new number .... After the previous BS , etc. Not against sharing the info but also in no hurry to either....... Air box on these is interesting. Choked off where the hood meets the air box / intake.... that might be the area it chokes off....... And it is a strange pipe ............... Based on checking the mapping....both of mine have the same. And interestingly enough, the prototype programming was very close also....with a touch more timing up top. I would have guessed the prototypes would have had a hot program in them for the demo use they got....to get people over excited about them... and then to be let down by the production programming. Wouldn't be the first time we've seen that happen......
  16. Sorry so late answering you C2C....been out of the country for a couple weeks.... ZR 137 ATAC Galaxy Blue and of course the R-XC......... To be honest, the 129 uncoupled had my interest also. But the conditions we did our demo ride on, the ATAC 137 was better. Along with the fact that my wife MAY ride whatever other Catalyst I ordered, I stuck with what she will be best on. I'm sure I'll get some time on a 129 next season in real world conditions and that may change my mind. Especially once it gets some traction..... And it could be a consideration for the 2025 with what ever big bore is coming
  17. Gee.....thanks....... Doesn't matter what someone says, they are always be others who will say you don't know what the fuck you are talking about. Why so many no longer add knowledge to the senselessness But, yeah, I have 2 coming....when they arrive is another story of course
  18. If you are talking about the ZR Galaxy Blue, I agree. The pictures are subdued compared to seeing it in person in sunlight. This is about the best picture of the blue I have..... but still looks better in person
  19. Well, some of us still feel the 500/600 SnoPro chassis was about the best seating position (and seat) that Cat had come out with. The ProCross was never as good in my opinion. Especially the seat on ProCross never compared to the SP 500/600 seat. Better because the Catalyst feels (and looks) more modern and refined. If I was to look at Cat, I would say the Catalyst is very similar to (even dare say better than) the SP500/600 in seating position. I didn't ride much standing up, but the transition to standing up was effortless.
  20. I could care less about the pan hitting the clutch. The "button" they put there and rubs against the clutch cover however is a concern since these ADAPT clutch covers have been cracking on current sleds. It's a VERY minor thing for sure. But it did make me go hmm. I got 2 ordered. And a 3rd with my wife's name on it. I'm excited to get this chassis and get it figured out. You really couldn't tell a lot about the way it works under the limited conditions we had on the 15 minute ride. Some things stood out....seating position, flat cornering front end, etc. But other things you just weren't able to tell.... stutter bump compliance, how it handles whoops, etc. I can't wait for next season to work out these questions and see how this chassis shines.
  21. Yup..... and then hold your hand on your ass waiting to see when it will show up.................. Agree Poo does have the spring order deal done right.... I agree. At this point Cat is selling all they can produce. And, as much as I like color options, having 2 or 3 choices would be good. And Cat is allowing you "add" different windshields, bumpers, bags, etc when you "build and price" the sled ... but these will come as accessories the dealer orders in addition to the stock ones that come on the sled. However, I would really like to be able to have track choices. Or at least do the track swap program they used to do... I'm not a fan of the RipSaw2 personally and would swap to the Cobra if I could.
  22. Sure....be warned, it's long.... Warning.....long winded report below... Went to the Catalyst demo rides in Old Forge today. We got there at 845 because of the posted show starting time of 9am and had heard slots for the rides were gone fast at other demo rides They had started sign up for rides at 8:30 and we were the last 2 slots in "group 2" leaving at 10:15. I rode the ZR 129 IFP first, then the R-XC, ZR 129 ATAC, and lastly the Galaxy Blue ZR 137 ATAC. Well.....I wish the conditions were different.... how often do you hear someone wanting bumps instead of flat trails. And the trails were a mix of frozen granule ice/snow and ice. So no studs and stock carbides didn't help to really get a feel for the chassis. Also really couldn't tell how well (or not) the new suspension works because it was flat. Unfortunately for Cat, I personally can not see buyers of a competitor being swayed based on the demos today....mostly because we are all becoming more and more accustomed to the rider forward style. But also because of the flat conditions and there not being a way for the chassis to shine. On the trails next season is where this sled will convert people. But from what I could tell, this chassis is a huge step forward for Cat...even as good as the ProCross is/ has been. The new motor does seem stronger. I would have loved to have had some real traction to get a decent feel just how much stronger. But you can tell it is more responsive than the current 600 mill. Even with track spin, you could feel the sled wanting to accelerate. Hitting the throttle at 40/50 mph it would shift and you knew it wanted to go, but you knew it was all track spin showing the immediate jump to 70/80 mph. But again, you could tell there was more than the current 600. I tried pretty hard to get some ski lift out of the chassis, but it stayed planted. But it didn't feel front heavy / biased like the Procross can. This is definitely a planted Cat front end. The seat is great (but isn't almost anything compared to the ProCross seat?). As is the seating position. Ergos around the console, side panels feel about perfect. But not sure about the open foot wells to be honest. I can see when really leaning in a corner how the force on your outside foot could make it slip out. Especially being on the shorter side (5'7") and the taller seat causing my knee / upper leg to be higher...if you can follow my thoughts there. The switch gear has a few minor changes, like there is more plastic around the start/ reverse switch which made it noticeably harder to push. Not sure if they are, but the bars felt slightly more narrow than on the ProCross. Could just be the way they had them adjusted. It's nice to see a manufacturer including a tether AND a RCA / heated shield connector as standard features. And there is still the 12volt plug inside the storage compartment between the gauge and bars.... would be nice if it was an USB plug. After reading about how "playful" the new uncoupled 129 skid is supposed to be, I honestly was hoping to see a noticeable difference between the new skid and the coupled 137. But again, couldn't tell with these conditions. Every time I shifted my weight back to see how the 129 would react / lift the skis/ etc....all it would do is blow the track out under me....so, again, impossible to tell. But the 137s did seem to need a little more steering effort in the corners than either 129 did. The RXC 137 vs ZR ATAC 137 was a surprisingly noticeable difference. I fully expected the RXC to be stiffer. So no surprise there. But it also felt like the chassis was more rigid also. Not sure what additional braces, larger diameter hardware, etc there are on the RXC, but I liked the feel of the RXC. We all know the current ProCross R-XC is different than the RRs and especially the ZRs. But for some reason this seemed more noticeably different than in the ProCross chassis. When we got there at 845 they did have a R-XC inside (missing a rear idler wheel that they did replace and then added the sled to the demo rides). People were crawling all over that, taking panels & hood off, putting them on. Looking under the hood, etc. Didn't pay attention to the secondary (should have) to see if it was still the TSS-04 or not. And the motor honestly doesn't look like it's mounted any lower or further back towards the bulkhead, but I bet if you measured it, it would be. However I did notice the clutch side belly pan had a small metal tab like piece with a button type end on it right next to the primary. Should have grabbed a picture of it to explain it better. It's to keep the plastic from contacting the primary when the plastic is flexed. Evidenced by the marks on the primary cover when it had rubbed at different times. Not what that thin (and already known to crack) primary cover needs is something rubbing against it. Hopefully this is one of those little things they catch with pre-production units and either add more support to the belly pan or something and not end up with this band-aid fix (in my opinion). Once that R-XC was added back to the rides the only Catalyst for people to look at, crawl over, was a M outside. If I had to make any complaint about the Catalyst based on today, it would be the "deluxe" gauge that we are still stuck with. I asked one of the factory reps there when we were going to actually get the reported new "modern" gauge that could be a competitor to the Poo 7s or whatever Doo calls their new one. The response....."well I've seen it"...... What a response!! Lol !! Overall, I am excited to get this chassis come fall. Based on today, this motor is ahead of the current Cat 600. Not near my 22 800 RR. And I'd question if it would compete with my 23 VR1 650. But without traction today, we will see about that next year when I get my sleds and they are studded, etc and compare them then. The chassis brings Cat into the modern era of where Poo and Doo are....even though I can't stand to ride the newer Doos... personally can not get comfortable on any of the newer Doos I've ridden. Going from my 23 Poo to my 22 RR you begin to realize how dated the ProCross really is. The Catalyst addresses this and I personally feel could leap ahead, especially once the new big bore 2 stroke (and other rumored motors) comes out. Apologies for the long report.....
  23. I think the B-last and ZR7000 are still available...............
