  1. I hated the Beatles until I listened to Abbey Road high on Acid. then I thought they were geniuses. Black Sabbath on acid is a whole other level of genius.

  3. Ideally I would like to see an end to health insurance as we know it and move to a more functional system of health care. Perhaps leave health insurance for catastrophic cases and just have individuals have HSA's to pay their day to day bills. With what I pay for my family's insurance plan its never a cost effective endeavor. I would much rather pay for a catostrophic plan and just pay for doctors visits and prescriptions out of pocket. I'd probably save about $10,000-$15,000 a year. And I also feel that insurance companies and care providers have an incestual relationship that is more about $$$ than effective health care.

  4. As it should be. If you are paying cash you should get the same discount as the insurance companies.

  5. You are special aren't you? I'll believe sp31 before I believe any hack you post. This guy works in the field. He has zero to gain BSing us. Plus both my sister's are ICU nurses. One in New Brunswick Canada. One in Wyoming USA. They're seeing it first hand.

  9. Man, I'm so happy we don't have to worry about this shit up in Canada, I'd be bankrupt a few times over. At 37, in pretty much peak physical health (165lb, <8% body fat, high activity, dedicated healthy eater), a few months of a messy divorce and an asshole supervisor pushed my BP high enough to destroy my kidneys, requiring a transplant. Total out of pocket: $0. Ongoing anti-rejection medication for the rest of my life: $0. I honestly couldn't imagine living under the American system of health care. Don't get me wrong, Canada is fucked in a lot of ways and getting worse all the time. And tax rates are pretty fn ridiculous. But not having to worry about choosing between medication and food/rent/utilities/etc is pretty nice.

  15. 1, thats absolute comedy gold. It dosnt create crime aside from thet fact that selling it is a crime. 2, Adulkts needing to ask other adults to get married no matter their sexual orientation is a joke in itself. , think about that for a minute, an adult asking another adult for permission.please. 3 , Again , we are back to controling other people , asking for permission , and again , please.

  17. Listening to the White album while under the influence of an unknown substance. Opened my eyes to see this biker dude with a full patch jacket sitting on the other side of room laughing hysterically at me. Pock marked face and greasy hair. I asked him what was to funny. He said I looked like the pet hamster he had as a kid. What the fuck.

  19. Several years ago myself and 5 other guys were up in the UP snowmobiling. This young waitress was getting busted good by a guy at another table. She kept her smile and was pleasant. We all took notice. We overheard her talking quietly to another waitress about how hard it is some days. She eluded to her husband loosing his job from a layoff and new baby. We finished breakfast and we all started throwing cash on the table for a tip. Two of the guys were high rollers. One owned the largest cranberry farm in the state as well as owning a successful Polaris dealership. The other owned a chain of restaurants. I have no idea how much cash we left for a tip, but it was a pile. We all got up and left without a word. To this day I still wonder about her reaction. We were all giggling. Sometimes you just have to go for it.

  20. yeah but if you remove the cost inhibitor why cant blue cross Iowa just sell you the same shit as blue cross minnesota? Insurance costs are based on the health care costs of your area. If there are mandatory inclusions for a specific state and you remove those then I dont see why there would be any difference in costs. People like to get caught up in the "which insurance is cheaper" when in reality its the insurance that makes your health care expensive.
