smokin george
I'm hoping to get out this winter and do some ice fishing. We have a 6 man Clam and a 10" auger that we've only used once. It was fkn cold and windy that day and with the tent heater it was nice and toasty. It's pretty slick and pops up/down in a couple seconds. I forgot my clear lenses and only had my tinted ones on the goggles. Just about had an ice hut as a hood ornament
Puzzleboy
Not the last 2 winters. Dodge the pressure cracks too. At least the 3 big ones or so usually form in the same spots, but we have gone out during the day - nothing, and come back at night, and big enough cracks had formed to swallow any slow moving Polaris. So, are they gonna drill holes in the ice at the Molson Centre? Not sure why they need a show with demonstrations ..... most guys already know how to drink beer. 02sled
Not a fan of ice fishing but l wonder how much variety of things like rods, reels and associated gear could there possibly be for ice fishing to have an EXPO compared to fishing in the summer season. I'm a huge fan of summer fishing and there's a whole variety of rods and reels alone. Varying lengths, stiffness. bait cast, spin cast, downrigger etc. All with a unique purpose. So now you have a hole in the ice with a short stubby little rod. How many variations could there be? Yeah I know there are some other things like augers and sleds to pull your gear behind you but is there really that much to collect for ice fishing, especially if you do like so many and rent a hut with a hole already cut for you. Come early and stay the day I really like ice-fishing. I don't have the portable shack, but I have all the basics. A fishing buddy of mine moved to Florida, but he wants to come up this winter so we can go ice-fishing again.
