I know a couple young cops, who are so far from what you are its not funny.  Athletes, college graduates, level headed and smart.  My cousin was once a Maine state trooper of the year, and was very far from what you are.  The point I was trying to make before you shit all over this thread, was cops and first responders are the ones tasked with running into the face of this danger and eliminating it.  For that, they deserve respect, not the constant drumbeat of negative bullshit coming from people like Ben.

where exactly did they do that in this case.

Again citing police radio, The New York Times said officers were right outside Paddock's hotel room at 10:24 p.m., 16 minutes after the shooting began.

One message said: "I'm on the 32nd floor. The room is going to be 135."

Another said: "It's room 135 on the 32nd floor. I need the SWAT."

It would be almost another hour, however, until officers would break into Paddock's room. He appeared to have stopped shooting by this point.

Approximately 10:28 p.m.: Paddock shoots a hotel security guard.

Further police radio transmissions suggest that Paddock shot a hotel security guard who was trying to approach his room. The man was injured in the leg, according to The New York Times.

Approximately 10:30 p.m.: Officers on the scene order passersby to take cover.

Reuters reported that minutes after the alert to cab drivers, the police started herding people inside Mandalay Bay to get them out of the line of sight of the gunman.

Sounds only slightly braver than shooting a black kid in the back if you ask me.

Hi Woofie, how's the JAP? Well as objectionable as Ben is, I guess he has a right to post his inane remarks. After all it is FREEDOMSLEDDER.COM.

To Ben's defense, I will agree that some cops are motherfuckers. I worked with and saw them in action myself, some of them are punks, both on the job, and off.

Were your cop friends and cousin singled out of their academy for their boxing ability?

Were they told by another cop that they would probably end up as an instructor at the academy someday?

Were they singled-out of the Connecticut State Police Physical Agility Exam held at the Groton, Conn Navy Base, because they were scoring so high?

When your athletes do that , then they can talk to me.

When they pass written Chief's exam with two day videotaped Asessment Center, let me klnow.

The whole "cops are brave and run into danger" narrative is being destroyed by the fact that they insist they have the right to kill someone anytime they're spooked. Brave people don't shoot unarmed kids because they think they have a gun, brave people face the danger of that possibility without killing the kid.

honestly I don't think that most think they have the right to kill,  i think they are scared even though stats don't show their job is any more dangerous now than 30 years ago and when you start from a position of being scared walking into a situation mistakes get made easily.

I have to walk into a lot of abandoned buildings for my job. And usually they are in very rough neighborhoods and have signs of being "inhabited" . We went to an old factory one time and they had an off duty cop as a security guard. He said he would accompany us as we walked the building. Fucking dude had his gun out with the safety off the whole time. We were 10x more scared of this dude than anybody who might be in there. And there were lots of people in there.

Yeah but you don't have a citizenry putting you on a pulpit and creating a narrative that there's a war on you.
