Honestly, I don't see a problem with putting a flag on his coffin.

They were also saluting him.

I understand your dislike for police officers , but surely if a gangster can get eulogized by a president....we can throw a cloth flag on the coffin of a fallen officer.

Well that's your opinion and I can respect that.

But they are not military just because they are sworn to serve and protect.

They are sworn officials if you can't accept that reality, I don't know what to tell you but that makes them not civilians, SBYL :dunno:

Look guys I just feel that honor should be left to the military guys and dignitary's

The military people don't get much for the scarifies they make..

They do have their own cemetery and what exactly would you like to see them get? I have never served but I think most really don't want overly special treatment....did you hear Marcus Lutrell last night? He of all people was thanking the American people for allowing him to serve.....God Bless Him.

Well it's just the way I feel and I won't change my opinion.

Just know that it moves us just that much closer to a police state.

Them vs us division.

I feel the blacks pain about this.

Because a gunned down cop gets a flag on his coffin you feel the blacks pain....you do realize that there are black cops and they would receive the same treatment?

Flags aside....the second worst day for  police officers since 9 11 .

I think the networks could of spared a few minutes to honor this man, when over a thousand people showed up to

Honor him.

I think we have special circumstances here.

I'm talking in general...not the topic of this thread.

How blacks are treated by police in general.

But yeah..the cops are civilians just like us.

Now,they could say fellow civilians and I would be fine with that.

Matter of fact they work for us.

So who does the military work for? Aren't they paid for by tax dollars as well?

He is the chief actually.

Let me know when he goes into battle and / or risks his life to protect / save others. Cops and firefighters do it all the time. We just had a firefighter die on the job here
