Yea, like 37" BKT's on 20" wheels.  Something like that.  I just sent the owner a message to confirm exactly what tire that is.

Lots are going to them...I still like my original outlaws....more give to them...and they dont dig...all personal preference of course.

Yea, all personal preference for sure.  We don't have much water associated with our deep mud holes.  Maybe 6" of water on top of a 6' deep mud hole.

This is a pretty solid unit.  Lots of fun to drive, great suspension and still goes decent through the mud.  Gets stuck a lot but it winches through the deep stuff easily.

Haha.  Chad the owner of the X3 also owns the biggest ATV and Sled shop in the state.  He has a different set of tires on that buggy every weekend.  He had portals and BKT's on it about 2 weeks ago.

Ostas the only one who really has one thats modded but hes yet to go extreme with it yet....portals have not stood up very well here...few guys had them and where shredding them....and with gear reduction...you had to creep around like a dinosaur...lol

This guy wheeled with us last weekend.  This rig went pretty good.  He could keep up with us through most of the trails.

Yea, the portals fall apart very quickly for sure.  Guys here use them primarily for the gear reduction and the fact you can get big tires on them.  They know its a slow ride with portals.

Several friends pull them off and put them back on depending on what trail they are going to ride that weekend.

Our riding areas are very diverse.  We start out at a trailhead with a few miles of muddy wooded trails.  Mud from 12" to 6' deep with just a skiff of water on top.  The trail leads to alpine tundra that is basically bottomless swamp.  As long as you don't rip through the terra you can gently float on top and make it across football field sized swamps.  These alpine swamps lead to rocky mountain trails.  We are well above treeline by this time.  Trails might be 10-15 miles in one way.

No one rig does everything perfect so they are all a compromise.

Within 30 minutes of Wasilla we have no less than a dozen different high mountain waterfalls or crashed WW2 bombers or other points of interest.  There are dozens of ways to get to every site.  We typically go wheeleing every weekend and some summers we never go on the same trail twice.

Yea, I don't know what it has for motor mods but it sounds as nasty as it looks.

1000r which is actually 976...88-89 hp stock....gear reduction tranny stock....if the motors stock hes losing lots of power to the wheels because of that huge lift....its the reason ive fought back and forth whether i wanna spend the extra coin on a lift...itnever ends...lol

What about an ARGO? :dunno:

Argo's go great.  Especially with tracks.  They are slow and consume lots of fuel but they go through bottomless muskeg really good.  On the down side they are super rough riding, and maintenance hogs.  They are a tool to be used in the woods and wilderness not something you would take out to have fun with.

Yah they are maintenance nightmares and slow and rough but will basically go anywhere :)
