Until you take the private corp money out of elections it will never happen.

Politicians have lost their way.....they are supposed to be working for their constituents in their home state not some corp that gave them a million dollars to run for office as a hacky ass slave to them.

All politics should be local as it once was.

welcome to anarchy

UHC is the only way forward and we need to think outside the box to avoid the typical pitfalls associated with government implementing things and fucking them up

Like a rotating civilian oversight committee or something

I think the federal govt needs to get out of much of our governing all together. All they do is fuck it up. It will be alot easier to police locally.

Sort of.. I am in the demolition business and we also do environmental work. But the EPA has never been a threat here. We have local environmental agencies that regulate and enforce us. OSHA however is a much bigger problem for contractors... We could stand to do without them...

Yeah - it sucks to follow safety standards :snack:  Who wants a safe work environment?

Environmental laws and regulations that create opportunities for you are drive from the federal level - not the local level.  You're doing a good thing but your opportunities were/are created by government driven regulations.

OSHA is predatory in enforcement. Its not about being safe, its about how many safety violations and how many $$$ they can get. And you are correct, the environmental regs are started at the fed level. Just saying we dont really need them anymore as we have several local agencies that meet or exceed those regs.

No - we still need them.  Do you think there will ever be a need for new regs driven from the federal level?

Studies, research, and data take time and those studies are best driven from the Feds.  Environmental remediation might be completely different 25 years from now.

OSHA can be a pain but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

We had a situation on a job a few years back where an OSHA Imspector watched while a a safety violation occurred just so he could write a citation and when asked after the fact what the proper procedure should have been replied that it wasn't his job to tell us that. They are absolutely predatory and not interested in safety but apparently the salesman knows better.

Safety is almost entirely insurance driven nowadays. OSHA just mainly targets the big companies with the deep pockets. They dont really promote safety.

We had our 1st ever OSHA inspection 2 years ago. Fucking asshole plumber called them thinking he was going to have a nice lawsuit because we were exposing him to lead. (a fucking plumber worried about US exposing him to lead LOL). Turns out we met or exceeded the regs so we didnt get any violations BUT he did cite the owner and another contractor while he was there. KARMA mutha fuckas! You dont invite the wolf into your house!

The dems fix to Obamacare is to lower the Medicare age taking millions out of the pool who are typically the wealthiest age group.

FBI Bernie and his wife can no longer play the "I'm with you card."   3 homes, under investigation by the FBI.

We had one in about 4 months ago.   I hate that instead of investigating and looking into what they were called for they look at your entire plant.   I'll have to admit the guy was really cool.   He was a former business owner himself who was more about education than enforcement.   Could have nailed us pretty good on tons of little shit but didn't.

The guy that inspected us was actually pretty cool too. He knew why he was called and kinda stuck it back in the owners ass because they were wasting his time. As a company we are pretty up on safety so we had our shit together and he could tell. Never heard another peep out of those faggot ass plumbers after that.

Our WC rate is as low as it can be but we had a variety of small violations that he basically said fix and send me a picture in a few days.  The 2nd day he had to leave as a guy basically got decapitated at another company.   Large high pressure air tank he was servicing and he didn't relieve the pressure before taking out a plug.  As he got to the end of the threads the plug came out like a 3" diameter slug hitting him in the head.   They had a procedure to relieve the pressure and the guy had been trained but no instructions at the tank.   For the most part employee error but they were looking at some serious fines.

I am spot on. The ACA is brought to all Americans by the Democratic party. Its being brought down by the Republican party for the 1 percent of the wealthiest in America.

So yeah the Dems on this issue have all Americans in mind with this one Benwah
