Its funny you mention 08-09....thats when I made most of my initial big investments....I was a little gun shy putting my severance and pension into a high risk situation. All you need to know is by looking ay the DJIA for the past 90 years. 8+% average annual return. For 90 years. Thats not to say there aren't down years, but the good far outweighs the bad. My pension is in a RIF( retirement investment fund) i cant touch it till im 55....the severance I can touch whenever....but I wont touch it either till im 55....and yes this yr has been very good so far...im glad I made the jump across the border a couple yrs ago.
