"Very bad and conflicted people"

Recommended Posts

This is how the lying piece of shit describes some of the best minds in america at sniffing out corruption. Very telling.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Donald Trump has lashed out at the investigators driving the Russia investigation as "very bad and conflicted people," responding angrily to reports that the special counsel is looking into whether Trump obstructed justice.

In a series of statements on Twitter Thursday, Trump called special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 campaign a "WITCH HUNT" based on the "phony" premise of possible collusion between Russia and a cadre of Trump campaign associates.

The president complained the probe is unfair and wondered why his defeated Democratic opponent wasn't getting the same scrutiny.

"Why is that Hillary Clintons family and Dems dealings with Russia are not looked at, but my non-dealings are?" he asked.

"They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story. Nice," Trump wrote in his first tweet. "You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history - led by some very bad and conflicted people! #MAGA."

The Twitter attacks came as Vice President Mike Pence hired a personal lawyer to represent him in the intensifying investigation. Pence's office confirmed he had retained Richard Cullen, a former Virginia attorney general and U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, to assist "in responding to inquiries" from Mueller.

Mueller investigation appeared to be reaching a broadening circle of current and former officials. The Washington Post reported Wednesday that the investigators were looking into possible obstruction of justice. The newspaper noted Mueller had requested interviews with CIA Director Dan Coats, National Security Agency chief Michael Rogers and Richard Ledgett, the former NSA deputy director. Recent news reports have suggested Trump sought all three officials' help in pressuring FBI Director James Comey to drop his investigation into former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn.

Comey testified last week that he also felt pressured to drop the Flynn probe. Comey said he believes Trump ultimately fired him "because of the Russia investigation."

Coats met behind closed doors for more than three hours Thursday with the Senate intelligence committee, which is conducting a separate investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Trump's Twitter response followed days of intensifying criticism of Mueller from some conservatives who have charged the former FBI director and his team with political bias and have claimed his relationship to Comey and an earlier meeting with Trump amount to conflicts of interest.

A close Trump associate said this week the president was considering firing Mueller, although the White House later denied it.

Exactly.  Why not just let it run it's course so that he can be exonerated?  All his tweets, obstruction and bitching and moaning are tells that he is lying, guilty and has something obvious to hide.

Enjoy your jail cell Don

Rosenstein Says He May Need To Recuse Himself In Russia Probe: ABC

This morning is becoming very chaotic for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, a man who has historically maintained a very low profile at the Department of Justice.  After issuing a rather uncharacteristic and cryptic statement last night urging Americans not to trust "anonymously-sourced" new stories (a statement that many have speculated is attributable to Wapo's latest anonymously-sourced headline from last night) and being blasted by President Trump this morning, ABC is reporting that Rosenstein has privately acknowledged that he may need to recuse himself in Mueller's Russia probe.

The senior Justice Department official with ultimate authority over the special counsel's probe of Russia's alleged meddling in the 2016 election has privately acknowledged to colleagues that he may have to recuse himself from the matter, which he took charge of only after Attorney General Jeff Sessions' own recusal, sources tell ABC News.

Those private remarks from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein are significant because they reflect the widening nature of the federal probe, which now includes a preliminary inquiry into whether President Donald Trump attempted to obstruct justice when he allegedly tried to curtail the probe and then fired James Comey as FBI director.

Rosenstein

Of course, the next most logical question becomes who would step in to fill Rosenstein's shoes?  According to ABC, that obligation would fall upon Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand.

Rosenstein, who authored an extensive and publicly-released memorandum recommending Comey's firing, raised the possibility of his recusal during a recent meeting with Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand, the Justice Department's new third-in-command, according to sources.

In the recent meeting with Brand, Rosenstein told her that if he were to recuse himself, she would have to step in and take over those responsibilities. She was sworn-in little more than a month ago.

That is, until Rachel Brand becomes 'conflicted' and also has to be recused.

In the end, we suspect liberals in Congress will not be satisfied with anyone chosen to oversee Special Counsel Mueller's investigation until that 'someone' becomes Nancy Pelosi or Maxine Waters.

Nothing I disagree with.  They are bad and conflicted people.  Unfortunatley most of them are Democrats.  Sworn to uphold the constitution, and instead they've sold their souls to the Washington insider clique.  Call it elitists, bourgeoisie, deep state, whatever.  If its a legitimate investigation, its Obama, Lynch, Holder, Clinton, Rice who will be going to jail.  I hope you guys can brace yourself for that hard truth when it comes.

Would you welcome yet another witch hunt?  Yeah I doubt it.
