Stevie, is my stove screwed?

My stove is saying there is a fault and when you turn it on to "bake" it turns the broiler on and gets super hot. I have unplugged it and plugged it back in and after that it worked fine a few times but has f'd up again. Have you ever heard of that and if so, easy fix or should I buy a new one. Its about a 5 or 6 year whirlpool.

Thanks man!

Could be the Control Board, should be a schematic on the back on unit.

Replaced mine on my GE gas range, Canadian suppliers wanted $800 for it and got it in the US for about $120.  For 120 I fixed it, was a bit of a pita changing it though from what I remember.

They are not built to last anymore.

Our old stove had the control panel kicking off an error while it was still under warranty. If we had to pay for the repair the parts & labour would have been about $750 to $800. A few years later it went funky yet again. We replaced the stove as the part was now up to about $700. It was under 10 years old
