If it is provided by your employer it should be taxed. Because it is a tax subsidy for corporations...

that'll suck even more money out of the economy. then there's the 20% mexican tax we all get to absorb.....i could go on

UHC then it is a tax. Problem solved.

Do you think employees are fucking retarded? I know exactly what my health coverage is worth and I consider it part of my compensation......take it away and you better make up for it somewhere else or I walk

I understand. But it is part of your pay and can be considered income because it has value. The issue with employer provided health I durance is it is getting too expensive. So what is going to happen is higher copays, higher deductibles, lesser coverages, more out of pocket. Many companies are implementing ways of avoiding it all together. I don't see any other rational solution than UHC.

I agree and I recently got moved to a HSA plan which shifted some of the costs to me. Now we are fairly young and healthy so it has worked out well but if someone gets really sick its going to cost me some money and I am fine with that

Sick? You have a better shot at spending money on broken bones when you pile that Pro S into an oak tree.

it should not be paid for by the employer everyone should have to stroke a check,  maybe when everyone has to pay the real cost they will see how bad our system really is.

Yep, the fact is Americans aren't against socialist medicine, they just don't want to pay for it.
