Cold War
Americans are wasting away. Everywhere I go see these frail, Skelton like people, especially in the poor areas. Just watched a report on the news about the tons and tons of food Americans are literally throwing in the garbage.

ICEMAN!
Interesting article. Decentralization across many sectors is something we will see in the future. The internet will allow it to happen. Cool times if we survive.

racinfarmer
Good think little Marky Dayton is trying to take away productive ag land for pheasant habitat here in MN. I mean, non-native species habitat. Edited February 17, 2017 by racinfarmer

They're likely past the expiration code.

Zambroski
Capitalism is fluid. It won't let itself die. It reacts with market swings. It is here to stay.

But people have been saying the same thing for decades, even a couple centuries(at a minimum). As the headline says "unless something changes". Things are always changing so I see little reason to worry. We have less people starving today in this world than in the past, even with more people on the Earth. Humans don't have the ability to project what will happen in the next 20 years let alone 30, 40, 50+.

SSFB
8 minutes ago, ICEMAN! said: Capitalism as we know it has a limited life expectancy. Not necessarily. We went from something like 40% of people working on farms to 2%. Imagine what people would say if you asked them in the 1890's what the rest of these people would be doing for jobs and where all the food would come from, they wouldn't have the slightest idea because it's impossible to know what the future will bring. This is a great TED Talk, give it a listen.
